Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

From: http://deadspin.com/unsealed-court-documents-sandusky-abuse-allegation-was-1783508016

In compiling his report, Williams was given access to information about Penn State’s settlements. This is confidential information, and in addition to citing two more widely known incidents (including that witnessed by Mike McQueary), the report appears to have unearthed four new cases that were not publicly known:

  • A 1976 incident where one alleged victim made a report to Joe Paterno.
  • A 1987 instance of improper sexual contact between Sandusky and a minor that was witnessed by then-assistant coach Joe Sarra.
  • A 1988 instance of improper sexual contact between Sandusky and a child that was witnessed by then-assistant coach Kevin O’Dea.
  • A 1988 incident, the report of which was referred to then-athletic director Jim Tarman.
But we are supposed to believe that Joe didn't know anything. Nothing at all.

Just posted in the Schiano thread, but I think you have to part ways with him as well.

I just don't see how you can employ a guy who potentially saw the molestation of a boy in a shower and did nothing....essentially the same thing Paterno and the rest of the cult has been accused of.

Absolutely. After all the years of this thread accumulating condemnation of PedState for their choices, it would be the foulest form of hypocrisy for anyone in BP to support retaining someone who was a part of that criminal cover-up. Saw and did nothing of substance? The worst kind of cowardice. And I just love, btw, how many instances there are in just this recent article of grown man after grown man walking in on Sandusky molesting a child and NOT ONE SINGLE REPORT of ANY of them raising so much as their voice, let alone their hand, to stop him. Ran away. Like terrified, helpless children. Something that unfortunately, the actual children were powerless to do. :mad1::sad:

Guess this didn't come up in Greg's interview? Get your act together, Urban. Time to verify the information and post a new job listing.

Not sure how Meyer would have thought to ask about that when interviewing Schiano. I could have seen that with another coach on our staff, but probably wouldn't have been on the mind at the time that Schiano shows up.

I read about the Schiano thing too, on BWI. I haven't seen much about it with primary sources.

I guess he better have a good explanation. I hope he does. But if he saw something and said nothing. . . Well, he made his choice then, and OSU can make theirs now.
Okay, this is really weird to ask, but was grown men showering with boys. . . normal back whenever? Not touching or being close. . . That is the only thing that could make Schiano witnessing it okay I guess. If it wasn't routine, and if there was any contact or close proximity involved, I'd have to say let him go.

I'm not saying it was normal. Just. . . so many people seemed to think little of it. But that is also common with child molestation, so it doesn't say a ton.

It seems to me like all arrows continue to point back to Paterno as, no hyperbole, an evil motherfucker.

When so many people witnessed something to report, and yet no one reported, how does that point to anything but Paterno aggressively covering up, probably by telling anyone who came to him that he was "taking care of it."

There was a thread on BWI some time ago claiming that grown men showering with boys was "normal" behavior of the times.

Going back to something I posted as pure speculation earlier in this thread, the only thing I can believe is that Pedterno was a child molester too. Taking care of his child molesting buddy. As I said, then, I have no evidence (EVIDENTS!!) for this assertion, it's just the only thing that makes a lick of sense to me.

Yeah, I'd have a hard time going that far. I don't expect any of this to ever make sense.

That said, the evidence is mounting that he is completely culpable in injuring many boys' lives as it is.

Ridiculous, there are cultures that shower, and cultures that think its ok to get fresh with little boys. These don't intersect.
Oh, I wasn't saying it's normal.... but, there seem to be those in the PedSta... OK, here, I actually have to say Penn State to avoid confusion in context... community who seem to think that behavior was normal. I don't personally find it normal at all.

Random thought: I have never showered with or been naked around my two little boys. I remember when debating circumcision a few female friends saying they will want to look like daddy. I was like "why the hell will they see my penis?"

I mean, I guess a coach saw me in the locker room before. Hmm. But not like we were showering together. I never saw him. That seems somehow weirder.
