Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

and Michigan (7-11 record, .389 winning percentage).
They got four of those wins against DickRod (3) and FatFuck (1). Before them, they had been on a nine-game losing streak to Michigan from 1997-2007.

The State of Indiana has been particularly kind to State Penn, which has a record of 18-1 against Indiana (.947 winning percentage) and 13-2 against Purdue (.867 winning percentage).
We're 18-0 against Indiana and 13-4 against Purdue during that same timeframe (not including this season's results).

jmho but unless you are willing to sacrifice something...like graduation rates, you won't be able to compete with the big boys....it's an uneven playing field.

Penn State is never going to admit morons to win FB games.

Who believes that Penn State would say, "Take down our national championship banner in 2018, our graduation rates were only 50%"? How about 25%? 0%?

Edit: fixed quotes
Edit 2: Well, not so much an edit, but it's cheating to say that they shouldn't have a national championship banner in 2018 because there's no way they'll win the championship in 2018.

I just realized that I may need to root for Penn State to beat Michigan this year.

Or... how awesome would it be to see Indiana beat Michigan?

I guess the best would be if November 28 was for the division championship, and we win 50-20.
This is the first time in a long time I actually briefly entertained the thought of rooting for Penn State over Michigan. I still haven't decided.

It's the perfect game which I've come to truly enjoy watching. No matter what happens someone loses and it's magical.

I can't "root" for either with any sense of good conscious. That said, it's more to our benefit to have the Pedsters win. If they do win, and we beat Illinois and Michigan State, we're division champs regardless if the unthinkable happens in the Pig House.

Joebots are a detriment to a normal, high functioning society, and their thought process is at worst extreme and potentially dangerous. That said:

Fuck Michigan...plain and simple.

Forever and for fucking always...

Oh usually I'm just watching and laughing my ass off. Even that game that went to OT that Penn State ended up winning, I enjoyed because it was just a display of how terrible both teams were.

However, this year Captain Khaki needs a few more losses for my liking.

Where will they level off? I'd say that after 20 fucking years we have a large enough sample size and that they've already "leveled off".

Except what if having the division title clinched causes a letdown that leads to the unthinkable? Especially if Michigan is coming off a loss at PSU. I worry that the weasels are going to want it more.

It would be pretty cool if OSU and Michigan are playing for the division title this year. I wouldn't have expected it to happen this quickly. But it's the way it should be more often than not and would show why it's so important for OSU and Michigan to be in the same division.

Still, I'll be rooting for the Nits. But I won't mind if they lose and, if they lose, I hope it's in the most soul crushing way possible.

If we can't get up for The Game, especially with Meyer at the helm, then we don't deserve to win...

Wow, BWI is in rare form on the fourth anniversary of Joesus' firing by the BoT. One of my favorite threads on the board is this 140+ post classic entitled "Four Years to the Day of the Joe Pa beheading. How's that working out for us?" The original poster (Apex Lion) then asks readers to "Fire away on the merits or drawbacks of beheading Joe Paterno on live, national TV."

When the OP is called out on the ridiculousness of equating Joesus' firing with a beheading, the original poster of course doubles down on such hyperbole:

"Would you prefer assassination?

Public Banishment?

Accusation of Criminal Guilt by Employer on live TV?"

http://bwi.forums.rivals.com/thread...beheading-hows-that-working-out-for-us.59369/

Some other great posts in that thread:

royboy: "It was the modern equivalent of a public lynching; I don't think that is too strong, and I think it is quite likely that it helped kill Joe Paterno."

EPC FAN
: "Well, it probably hastened his demise. But since you insist, how about they stabbed him in the back. Et TU, Brute."

demlion: "I will NEVER forget what they did. Until a full accounting is rendered, and they own not only what they did but WHY they did it, forgiveness is not an option. They can avoid famous, recognizable people like Franco, but they will not be able to forever avoid PennStaters in their communities, in their companies, or in public. When they are called out publicly, it will confirm and heighten the low level anxiety they feel already, and will commence it for those who have not felt it up to now.

It will never be over until they are dead. I am prepared to live with that if they are. And that is assuming we do not eventually get our hands on the emails (undoubtedly there are some) which tend to show it. In that event, they will be made to feel sorrow about this if only for."

psuro: "It was simply not a football matter. It only became that when no one in the BoT stepped forward, and the media went ballistic. Suspending Joe, much like his firing, simply added fuel to the fire that still smolders."

Misder2: "I believe it was known at the time. It was known to be a TSM problem."

Bob78: "I think Garban could not in good conscience deliver that message. I believe he knew what was going on and how wrong it was that they were scapegoating Joe."

waltsrug: "I could give two sh*ts what the general public has or has not moved on from. This is OUR family and WE will continue to resolve OUR family's name."

91Joe95: "The public was busy listening to the lies the bot was actively spewing before 11/9."

marshall23: "Corbett and his henchmen on the BOT executed a well planned coup."

Until a full accounting is rendered, and they own not only what they did but WHY they did it
As these people spew their insanity, I think it's important to continuously reemphasize the truth.

Best case scenario, Joe Paterno reported a case of child assault/rape to his "superiors" and not to the police. He then didn't follow up on that report a single time as the accused child rapist continued to bring little children into the football complex and on football road trips for the next decade.

Worst case scenario, Joe Paterno actively covered up and protected a child rapist for at least a decade and when others wanted to go to the police, he (coach) told them not to and they listened because he was the most powerful man on campus.

It was a football matter because Joe Paterno's image and reputation, and by extension the football program's (we are because he was), are the only reason this criminal indifference/active coverup took place.

It's extremely clear and justified why Paterno was fired in either scenario.

However, this year Captain Khaki needs a few more losses for my liking.

The way I see it, Michigan fans say that they care about win/loss record (hence, how they like to bring up all-time winningest team and stuff), but they really just want to put a quality team on the field. (Ask any fan how he feels about their triple-overtime win over Illinois a few years ago. You might want to stand back to avoid his vomit.) Penn State fans, on the other hand, say that they care about the quality of the team they have on the field, but they really just want wins. (409, the refs screwed us, etc.)

So the last few years I've rooted for ugly ugly ugly Michigan wins, preferably via a bad referee call or non-call, real or imagined. 2013, I believe, was the 4-OT game where both teams kept missing field goals and looking like wankers. Penn State fans decided it was a great game. They think the refs tried to hose them late but were unsuccessful. Move up to 2014 and you get what I consider to be the perfect game: Michigan wins a close game, and looks terrible in the process. Michigan fans don't really care to relive it - it's just another game where they looked like crap, despite the win. Penn State fans, however, looked like worse crap, and like to point at the onside kick penalty as "see?!? the refs are out to screw us!!!" They even have a really bad screenshot from a terrible angle that might barely be in the stadium that shows the Penn State player was not offsides. (Of course, there's another, better screenshot that shows that he IS, but don't let facts convince you of what the rest of us know.) That's the game that I tend to root for.
