Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

If this team bowl qualifies, Franklins should pull a JoePa (like '87?) and say nope, we don't deserve a bowl. It's going to be a crappy bowl regardless, better to stay home.

1. Ha.
2. I looked up Penn State in 1987 in Wikipedia. They went to the Citrus Bowl. Maybe 1988? 5-6 - they didn't qualify for a bowl. 1989 - Holiday Bowl. 1990 - Blockbuster Bowl. So maybe in 1988 JoePa, in his infinite wisdom, intentionally lost to Notre Dame so they'd be ineligible, so they wouldn't have to go to a crappy bowl game.

Solid example of how you can't trust anything The Cult says due to their propensity to make things up, repeat it several times amongst themselves, and accept it as FACTS and EVIDENTS.

What are the Pedsters going to do when they can't use the excuse of sanctions or being undermanned for every loss they suffer? It's not like they were sanctioned without reason. They lost to Maryland yesterday, not the '85 Bears.

Here we have a thread predicting/praying next year's game is a 70-7 win for the Pedsters. Seems a lot like the hollow threats just like Urban Meyer was going to be taught a lesson after last year's 63-14 game.

Re: Edsell and the B1G media folks are lobbying for a PSU/MD trophy.Reply
Delany and his B1G two brethren will stop at nothing to try and slow James Franklin down. They have been talking up this trophy and "big rival" idea before any games were played. They want a trophy? It should be for Statan Island West vs. Maryland. They can call it the Flood drove an Edsel trophy and put a fish mouth grill on a crab, at the top. PSU already has a B1g Rival and it's Delany.

How could a rivalry trophy possibly "slow Franklin down"?

I know several BP posters analyze the abnormal psychology of the Pedsters - can any of you explain this one to me?

My hunch is that, since the cult sees their natural rivals as Ohio State and Michigan, forcing them into rivalries with Rutgers and Maryland cheapens and lessens them in the eyes of recruits and the pollsters. It deprives them of their God mandated roles as Kings of the conference.

As usual and in keeping with the teachings of Joesus, they demand something they've been incapable of earning on the field and, rather than recognize and deal with those shortcomings like rationale adults, they instead blame it on conspiracy theories and cheating.

Penn State is 14-26 in conference play against Ohio State and Michigan combined (ignoring vacated games). It's hard to build a rivalry when your so-called rivals are so much better than you.

It could have become a very nice secondary rival. They chose nepotism, cronyism and hideous protection of Dear Leader's Grand Experiment over winning or the innocence of children.

Michigan State has definitely got that "second rival" spot locked up now.

It's funny how Penn State fans had no problem with Maryland and Rutgers as "rivals" back in the good old days when JoePed scheduled them every year for a guaranteed win.

It went beyond just being our secondary rival with most pedsters. That, to them, was actually unacceptable. They really expected that they would become both Michigan and Ohio State's primary rival, and games with the pedsters would supplant The Game as the most important in the Big Ten. Anyone who dealt with their delusional alums and fans between 1990 and 2005 knows how mind-numbingly arrogant they were about what their place in the conference would be.

They were never going to be anything but third to Michigan--after Ohio State and Sparty. They had a better shot with us to fill that secondary role of conference roadblock that Wiscy was until '11 and Sparty is now. That they failed to accomplish that on the field is inconceivable to them, so it must be some giant conspiracy to keep them down.
