Penn St. 13, tOSU 6 (Final)

Media darlings Penn State, #3 in the country and killing nearly everyone on their schedule, is only 1.5 favorites over "the most overrated team in the country" that's ranked seven places lower?

Not to mention that tOSU didn't score any offensive TDs in the second half in East Lansing.

[sarcasm] Any momentum for the offense from the first half has clearly been lost. [/sarcasm]

Not sure what your point is...when do you thnk is the last time OSU was a home underdog when ranked in the top 10?

Point should be pretty obvious, dipshit. PSU is undefeated and have pummeled (at least by final score) nearly everyone they've played. We, on the other hand, got blasted on national TV by USC (although they were #1 at the time, they promptly went up and shit the bed at Oregon State, a team that PSU had earlier ape-raped), have struggled at home against mediocre competition (Ohio, Troy, Purdue), and had to have a late 4th-qtr rally to beat the very same Wisconsin team that PSU destroyed the following week. Put all that together, along with the media's constantly questioning our validity, and it's truly surprising we're only 1.5 dogs.

I thought for sure with all of the above and PSU just steamrolling their opponents we would be getting more points even if the game is in the Shoe. Maybe the win against Michigan State woke the people up in Vegas.

I actually thought that OSU would be favored by a point. This game is a toss up on a neutral site but OSU is at home. I know PSU has never played well at the Shoe but PSU has never brought such a balanced team into the Shoe. It doesn't matter how badly PSU defeat another team because obviously Mich played better against us than against Toledo. Purdue played better against OSU/PSU/OR than ND. If this PSU can beat OSU at the Shoe, they are going to be compared favorably to the 1994 team. If Justin King didn't leave for the NFL and Sean Lee and our DEs didn't get injured, PSU would have the defensive experience to slow down TP/Robo and Beanie. Some how, I think TB will be a factor in this game because PSU has more trouble with a passing QB and good RB combo.

Are there some concerns about how much space Threet had on a large number of QB runs? UM, which has struggled a lot in the blocking department, was maintaining their blocks quite consistently for him.

Errr, so, other than your DBs, your LBs, and your DL, the defense is shaping up pretty good then? :slappy:

Sorry, this just struck me as funny.

Are you sure it was because of their better OL or maybe PSU was so afraid of UM's deep passing:biggrin2: game that they were dropping 7 guys way back.:)
