Peach Bowl: #1 Georgia vs #4 tOSU, Sat 12/31 8 ET on ESPN

Just popped in to offer mad props to CJ Stroud, who played like an absolute warrior tonight. I don't have anything to add about the game itself that you folks didn't say here; I knew OSU had the talent to hang with them but as you've all noted, that game was lost on the margins. Stroud was the realness tho, and as a Lions fan I can't say I'd be unhappy if Detroit threw both our firsts into trading up for him. Dude laid it all out there in way I didn't even know he had in him.

Sorry about the bad beat.

And as a Justin Fields fan if the Lions want to give the Bears two first round picks for Stroud so Fields could get Paris Johnson and Pete Skoronski at OT I’m on board with it.

There's plenty to say here and that was heart breaking, no way around it. For tonight I will just say that while I'm disappointed in the result, I'm very proud of how hard our team fought. They wanted this win more than any of us on here and we just came up short. I freaking hate it too, but the players left out all out there. Very proud of this team.

This.

I'm seeing a lot of "we were supposed to get blown out" (not just here), and rationalizing this loss. Fuck that. This is Ohio State and they just blew a 14 point fourth quarter lead because the defense is ass and the HC let off the gas on offense then hung his kicker out to dry at the end. This compounded with getting boat raced by a team that just lost to TCU does not sit right with me. At all.
In defense of the offense... we literally were down JSN, Henderson, Marvin and Stover by the 3rd quarter.

I'm fine with everything the offense did. They kept swinging when our defense clearly had no answers. The difference of this game ended up being we couldn't defend against their WRs. Ransom literally fell all over himself trying to defend these guys. We knocked out Washington early (who's now probably done for the year the way it looks) and basically eliminated Bowers too. Yet once again we focus so much on one thing that we leave ourselves exposed in another.

Looking back on it... we should've put Hancock in instead of Ransom. Get someone in there that can cover for goodness sake. I hate drilling a kid like this but #12 was an issue for 2 weeks straight and we should've assumed it wasn't getting better for this game. Yet we kept putting him 1 vs 1 and it kept hurting us all night.

Also I'm pretty sure Miyan was done at some point too? I don't remember when his last run was but I don't remember seeing him past the TD run

That's my final thought for the night too.

I cannot say enough how impressed I am with CJ Stroud. That kid finally took off when we needed and literally plowed into a safety like Cardale for his team to win. We missed a field goal to win it at the horn and that's terrible for Ruggles.

I wish we had tried harder to score 7 in the end but we had our shot. Proud of these kids for fighting.

Does he need more time to get things going on D, bring in his players, get another year to see what he does? The secondary was definitely weak and there wasn't much improvement IMHO. Coaching? Players? Both? I hope the D really comes together next season, and it needs to given the money spent to improve it.

Hats off to Ryan Day, Stroud, other players. Disappointing outcome, and we were missing some starters as well, then lost MHJ, Stover.

Ryan Day: "It's a team loss. I thought the defense played gritty at times and kept grinding. All we were talking about is swinging is hard as we can. We did give up explosive plays again and we talked about avoiding the explosive play ... But calling it for what it is, we can't give up those explosive plays and win these games."

Day said it, and it needed to be said.
