Peach Bowl: #1 Georgia vs #4 tOSU, Sat 12/31 8 ET on ESPN

I was pleasantly surprised. If you told me before the game we’d have a 50 yard FG to win the game, I’d have taken it.

Disappointed Noah hit a duck hook in that moment….that’s gonna be with him a long time unfortunately.

Thought Day called an amazing game right up until the last 30 seconds. He got a bit conservative running into a 7 man front…..to think we’d catch them dropping deep when they were bringing the house every series post MH Jr. getting concussed, was not great…

We still had chances to win but that non-targeting call was trash. Flipped the game on its head. 1st and Goal from the 4 if upheld….we score a TD there and game is basically over.

Was a bit surprised (I probably shouldn’t be) that they wouldn’t let MH Jr. back into game……remember when Shaun Wade concussed Trevor Lawrence and got called for targeting? Lawrence was back in the next play…..I have zero doubt that many schools let MH Jr. finish that game out after leaving the tent and wanting to play. I guess credit to OSU for having some standards but it stings….u can only lose so much talent before scoring TD’s becomes damn near impossible.

Props to CJ…..kid left it all on the field tonight. Finally gave up his body and got hard yards with his feet when needed. I think he just solidified himself as the #1 pick.

Kind of a weird year for me…..went from sky high expectations, to just wanting to move onto to 2023, to being pretty impressed with what they were able to accomplish tonight. The defense needs to get significantly better and I am optimistic it will as Knowles continues to build the foundation of what this defense will be. It’s also been a strange few years with kids playing grown men….Stetson Bennett is as old as Dick Clark. He could’ve been hosting NYE tonight.

I’ve said it for a while now but those who want to run Day off are taking a massive risk IMO. His style is built for the CFP even if he struggles against Michigan in Big 10 play. It showed tonight again. Is it a bit finesse? Without a doubt…..but absent some terrible calls/luck/breaks we beat the best team in college football tonight.
Dabo has done it multiple times. If I remember right Clubnick was shaking his head last night and did even get a look.

He also brought back a WR one year that was clearly concussed in the first half to play the 2nd. Makes his sanctimonious bullshit even worse.

I went from "we are up 11 let's not give up 7" to "please hit this Ruggles" in a matter of 5 minutes.

We blew it. Knowles and the defense specifically but we blew it.
This.

I'm seeing a lot of "we were supposed to get blown out" (not just here), and rationalizing this loss. Fuck that. This is Ohio State and they just blew a 14 point fourth quarter lead because the defense is ass and the HC let off the gas on offense then hung his kicker out to dry at the end. This compounded with getting boat raced by a team that just lost to TCU does not sit right with me. At all.

I was excited when the bucks took the ball down and scored on the opening drive, confident when they rolled to a 14 point lead, shocked at how fast Georgia took the lead, then breathed easy when the bucks took the lead back and extended it into the 4th. But the speed with which Georgia was able to score was concerning. The bucks were either stopping them or letting them score in less than six plays and in less than three minutes of playing time.

As for playing against TCU, if McCarthy could pass 343 against them, imagine what Stroud would have done. I think the confidence gained from playing and winning against Georgia would have carried the Bucks to a Natty. BUT, if ifs, ands, and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a hell of a Christmas.
