Jim Knowles can go. 85 points the last 2 games? If you want a safety driven defense you better have the mother fucking safeties. Otherwise adjust your strategy
We had too many players out is my excuse... that said our defense honestly gave up 7 to start the game too even though they missed the field goal. Bennett blew a zone read that should've been 7, UGA then missed the field goal and then missed another field goal.Final thoughts.. too many bounces went GA way..
There should have been SOME penalty for a hit like that against a WR who is clearly is looking up for the ball and defenseless and gets destroyed
Questionable play calling in the last 5 min..
Is it more heartbreaking losing by 1 or 30? They all hurt
I really really wanted to beat an SEC team.. especially #1.. lose to TCU in the NC? well then they were clearly the best team.. but OSU didn't get it done.. and now I have to root for some TCU miracle...
The frustrating thing is that his defenses at oOSU did not perform like Big 12 defenses. I'm willing to extend some rope because I think there are personnel problems with our defense...particularly the secondary. They are TERRIBLE. Need to address that.hire a big 12 DC, get big 12 results.
they score 120 pts a game down there.
Meh…Oklahoma State didn’t have a Big 12 defense, and with Ohio state offense PPG… expectation should be recalibrated with PPP. That said, you gotta know where the strength lies and scheme to accentuate it. He absolutely did not the last 3 gameshire a big 12 DC, get big 12 results.
they score 120 pts a game down there.
Or hire Jim LeonardI think we should borrow some of Hartline’s 5 stars and convert them to DB.
Defensive pass interference rules apply from the time the ball is thrown until any player touches the ball on either team. This means that when the ball is tipped, pass interference cannot be called.Feb 2, 2005And the ball was not tipped immediately either. It was a little bit downfield, meaning there is absolutely still interference.

Jerry Markbreit's answers - Chicago Tribune
So the ref would have to have seen that the receiver was interferred with prior to the ball being tipped at which point it's a free ball
The guy right before him called a pass play on first down from the Buckeye 40 with just under 2 minutes to play and bama sitting on three time outs. The great ones make bum calls too. That's what pissed me off. We were playing with house money. Day talked about playing loose with nothing to lose. Then on that last two drives, he reverts to the wooden playcalling that is so goddamned frustrating. That final sequence was unforgivable. This is Ohio State, there are no moral victories.
The guys before him set some lofty standards and built a machine. Ryan Day isn't meeting those standards.
Who cares... score 7 instead of 3. Don't give up a busted 7 points with your DB falling over nothing.setting aside that this is an NFL answer, the entire quote:
Defensive pass interference rules apply from the time the ball is thrown until any player touches the ball on either team. This means that when the ball is tipped, pass interference cannot be called. However, any action such as tackling a receiver or holding him can still result in defensive holding and carries a 5-yard penalty and an automatic first down. Holding can be interference, but most interference situations involve contact just before the ball arrives.
1) There was clearly holding
2) Most interference situations involve contact just before the ball arrives. After the ball is tipped. This was not one of those.
