Passing on NCAA 2005?

REALLY freaking hard...luckily, I'm a smashmouth guy. :biggrin: Although the agile rushing crap keeps me from turning on a dime and pulling an okie-doke freak show on everyone in the running game...I got out of some crazy situations in the past. I've gotta get used to this.

I'm just now understanding the passing. It's so much more about timing the route and when the receiver will be open, not so much as where. The defense closes much faster in this game (which I like, it's actually challenging now).

I can pass on any team with less than a B+ rating in their secondary. Any better than that and I'm suffering. I still have a long way to go in this game. Texas schooled me, their QB is unstoppable!

I've found that the drag route is money. Also, if you can streak or fade by the sideline with a decent receiver, and have 1 on 1 coverage...it is pretty easy to shield the DB from the ball just enough to pull down the long pass. In NCAA 2004 some of the stuff I'm getting away with would've been Off Pass Int. Also, curl routes work very nicely...the WR usually does a good job of keeping the DB to his back.

I was just playing ND a little while ago and I was down before the half 14-7 with about 50 seconds to go. I was going to punt on my own 9 on 4th and 33, then called time out and decided to wing a hail mary. I threw it to Santonio and somehow Bam ended up catching a deflection and scoring. Santonio, I've found can be pretty unstoppable on the fade if you can get the protection while Boston, er, Roy has been pretty clutch on the drags and crossing patterns.

Hamby is a good hook up if I'm having trouble getting the passing game going on his flag route with a back underneath and the backside receiver tying up the safety.

I think I'm getting better. My third game I played I got schooled by NC State, so I played them 2 more times getting better each time, but they were just too tough. It's 1am. Can't sleep (professional problem) so I think I'm going to give the Pack another shot (damn red uniforms).

I have found Hamby to be the most reliable receiver on the team so far, but the boy needs to work on his speed!

The pass defense AI on this game is ridiculous. Those guys jump too high or have too long of arms or something, because they are swatting down touch passes left and right. Throwing over a zone defender? He'll knock it down from 10 yds. in front of the receiver! Receiver beats man coverage and you put the ball on the outside shoulder? Forget about it! Also, I haven't seen a receiver win a jump ball yet.

eh i think its pretty easy to get used to the passing system. you just have to know the right time to through and where to lead them. I started playing all-american to get used to the altered system but now im back kicking ass in heisman

Ok Im getting this passing down now. You have to take control of the receiver on pretty much every ball...I still can't hit anything over the middle unless its a hot route on the blitz. Timing is very important as stated above
