Outdoor Grilling (official thread)

I'm considering going off the reservation on grilling. I have my gas grill that I bought a couple of years ago, but I'm very disappointed in the fact that the inner workings are rusting away - badly. My gas channels are pocked with huge holes. It's pretty disheartening.

So, I'm considering getting a pretty basic terra cotta pot, like a large flower pot, and using that as a charcoal grill. I've seen this done on TV several times and it looks as easy as any other grilling technique, with the benefit that it'll cost far less than an actual grill. Anyone ever tried this?

IMO, the only thing whole foods is good for is it's meat department. not too many places sell Prime. you pay out the ass, but its totally worth it every once in awhile.
whole foods meat is garbage. grow up, grow youre own beef. as they say
ommy: [Trying to copy his father's quote] Hey, I'll tell you what. You can get a good look at a butcher's ass by sticking your head up there. But, wouldn't you rather to take his word for it?
Mr. Brady, Customer: [confused] What? I'm failing to make the connection here.
Tommy: No, I mean is, you can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a butcher's ass... No, wait. It's gotta be your bull.
Richard: [embarrassed] Wow.

i prefer to have a role from day one.

Here's a quick one for the week end, we call them "Uncle Chuck Burgers"
Mix finely chopped red onions, and Worcester Sauce into your ground beef. Make patties thick enough and large enough they can be grilled 3 to 4 minutes per side without drying out. Season to taste, and top with American cheese and crisp bacon.

I made some of the best grilled asparagus and corn over memorial day weekend. Couple that with burgers, brats, hot dogs, etc man some great food

How did you grill your asparagus? My method is very simple: cut off the ends of the asparagus and marinate in salt, pepper, oil and balsamic vinegar for about 30 minutes prior to cooking. Get the grill very hot, dump the asparagus on the grill, dodge the fireball, roll across the grates a couple of times and pull them off. Pretty simple, awfully good.

I cut off the butt ends, and douce it with REAL butter. Slap on the grille and let em cook. Now with mine I don't nuke em on the grille. Mine cook longer at a lower setting so they get the grille taste to them, plus even if they get a tiny bit crispy on the outside bc they cooked a bit longer, it adds more flavor
