Outback Bowl: Wisconsin 17, Tennessee 21 (final)

Don't tell me bowl games don't matter. A lot of the players are 4th and 5th year seniors. For everyone else it's the end of the season. Athletes have pride and competitive spirit, otherwise they wouldn't be participating in sports. Nobody enjoys losing. Not coaches, not players, not fans. To say bowl games don't matter is completely baseless. This loss hurts......we blew the ballgame on a couple occasions.

Bowl games not named the BCS National Title game don't matter.

That isn't anything more than some horrible coaching. 4th down and a short FG brings Wisky within 1...And he goes for it and throws a pass! Ridiculous!
As far as Big Ten competition goes, I'm glad Wisky has that staff. It may be one of the dumbest I've seen.
The 1st quarter Wisky is running through UT. Just dominating them. Then on two consecutive series they start it off on 1st down with a pass.
Later in the 3rd as UT has made some adjustments and was doing a better job of shutting down the run, Wisky runs three straight times, including a 3rd and four!

I still can't get over this. Just over 4 minutes left, Fourth down and a short FG brings you within 1 point. Going for it is bad enough. But to throw a pass is beyond dumb. Taking the points to bring you within a FG of a win is basic football.
If they would've taken the points then Wisky would've only been going for FG on that last drive

It makes me appreciate having the greatest coach in college football on the Buckeye sideline.

If they matter to most players, then the outcomes have relevance, period. And without a playoff system, there's no way of telling who are truly the best teams at the end of the season. It's not as if there is a round robin 119 game schedule. It's dictated primarily by perception. And some prefer it that way.

the outcomes have absolutely no relevance to those that care about the only thing that matters - winning the championship.

Everything but whatever gimmick they are calling the National Title game is nothing but a glorified scrimmage between conferences and a chance for seniors and juniors to display themselves for the NFL scouts.

Thats a bunch of bullshit. Would a playoff be better, probably; but don't go trying to tell people that all the bowl games that aren't the title game, that their games are scrimmages.
Did you not get excited for the Ohio St. vs. ND scrimmage?

So does the title game not count to those who don't care about Ohio St. and LSU? Every game counts; i'd hate to see you coaching a college team after 3 losses since you'd only be playing for a pointless game.

Try milk on those Cheerios, rather than urine. :wink2:
