Our 2012 bowl game - at Hawaii?? (Not as 13th game, per NCAA sanctions)

There is no way they will cancel a home game and lose close to $10M (i.e. (105,000 x $70) + $15 parking + concessions) for a game in Hawaii.

Never going to happen. :(

That's why we refuse to play those molesters from PA and add Hawaii :)

(k) Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico. [FBS/FCS] Any football games played in Hawaii, Alaska or Puerto Rico, respectively, either against or under the sponsorship of an active member institution located in Hawaii

Why would anyone play in Puerto Rico "under the sponsorship of an active member institution located in Hawaii"?

If not in Hawaii.......

What about in Japan?
Anyone else besides me stay up late in 1993 to watch Michigan State play Wisconsin, and crush our chances for the Rose Bowl? We tied with Wisconsin that year, and lost to Michigan.
Nonetheless, Michigan State lost, Wisconsin went to the Rose Bowl, and there was some dumb rule that we couldn't play in the Citrus Bowl back to back years, so we got bumped all the way to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego against BYU where we won.
The good 'ol Cooper years, where we were always so close, but yet so far away....

I did read his entire post. Rule 17.9.5.2 Annual Exemptions deals only with the maximum amount of games, so that you can play a 13th game in a 12-game season, or a 12th game in an 11-game season. Also, there is nothing in the top quote about a 14-week window, just the bolded statement addressing that the games must be regular-season games. Now, we may have to drop Miami (Oh) or Central Florida so that we can argue that the UH game is our 12th regular season game and that we weren't trying to get a 13th game under rule 17.9.5.2.

I would inform the NCAA that we intend to play UH on either Dec 1st (if UH dropped the Soutern Alabama game), or on Dec 8th, on the condition we cancel one of our first two games so that we stay at 12 regular season games, and then make the NCAA specifically deny it. From that point on, legal action could be taken if wanted...

Fuck you. Cancel UAB, not my Knights. I'm looking forward to that game. I've got friends coming up for that.

I was only 4 years old then, but since I've gone back and seen that Holiday Bowl game on ESPN Classic, the Cougars found a way to make a game out of that didn't they?

That was my first Buckeye game. Wife and I were stationed at Camp Pendleton, just up I-5 from San Diego. Her parents bought us tickets for Christmas.

All this by-law does is keep us from scheduling Hawaii as a 13th game, but if we dump someone on our current schedule and replace them with UH, then we are at 12 games and thus the by-law becomes moot.

For the record, I fully support the NCAA and agree they know what is best for tOSU. No one should try to game the system. I appreciate their guidance and feedback. (Choke, gag.)

However, for the good of the team, I think we should start the 2013 season say around Jan 7th, 2013? Since it might be cold in Columbus, Hawaii might be a better location, but Florida would be okay too. I heard that Boise State double dares all comers, anytime, anywhere.
