CINCINNATI - Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton and Ohio State offensive line commitment
Paris Johnson has been committed to Ohio State since June 28, 2018.
However, while Johnson has long been an Ohio State commitment, he originally committed to
Urban Meyer when Meyer was the Buckeyes’ head coach.
Ryan Day subsequently took over for Meyer, and Day was not the one that recruited Johnson. So, Johnson wanted to get to know Day well before going all in with his decision. It was important that Johnson and his mother Monica have a great relationship and secure feeling in heading to Ohio State with
Ryan Day at the helm.
Day and Johnson as well as Johnson’s mother have gotten to know each other very well over the months since Day took over and have built a great relationship. While Johnson took official visits to both Georgia and LSU, things have continued to move in a very positive direction for the Buckeyes and Johnson.
Johnson has given plenty of indications on social media and by his actions over the past few months that he would be staying with his Ohio State commitment including posting pictures of himself and his Princeton teammate and Ohio State commitment
Darrion Henry in Ohio State uniforms together.
This afternoon Johnson and Henry were part of a media day at the Princeton High School football stadium. And during that media session Johnson proclaimed his recruitment is done, he will sign with the Buckeyes.
"It's a done deal," Johnson said when asked about Ohio State.
