OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

grad transfer targets are listed in the article. like with litl, woods is the one that piques my interest
woods is also considering going pro, probably Europe, but I wonder if he could opt to play in the G league along with other grad transfers. I do not know all the rules regarding the G league and who is allowed to enter their draft. I guess if you do not want to study that would be the way to go but the accommodations are probably better in college then in some of those G league cities.

assistant johnson now following zach johnson, a 6'2" guard from florida gulf coast who is a redshirt junior that has announced for the draft without hiring an agent. averaged 16.1 points (78% from the line, 39% behind the arc), 3.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.3 turnovers for 2017-18. as a freshman and sophomore, he averaged 11 and 12 points, respectively.

though i don't see anything from him (besides our coach's twitter follow, of course) that suggests he'd be a grad transfer after draft workouts, johnson was offered by butler shortly before ho1tmann's arrival. perhaps coach continued recruiting him. anyway, he's certainly a player the staff would go after if given the chance, and he's certainly what we're looking for. in size, strength, athleticism, and overall playing style, he's very similar to muhammad.

edit: scratch the "nothing suggests he'd be a grad transfer" comment. from his twitter "likes":

Some pretty nice stats but I have no idea why he would consider Arizona because I think something bad might happen down there.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound junior was an elite scorer in the America East, averaging a team-high 17.8 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field, 46 percent from 3, and 82 percent from the free-throw line.

He averaged 5.2 3s and 5.0 free-throw attempts per game. Cremo has been a double-figure scorer all three seasons at Albany and did that with tremendous efficiency.

Cremo mostly plays the 2 and the 3, per KenPom, but did spend some time at the point. The well-rounded Scotia, New York native averaged 4.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.1 turnovers per contest this season.

Here is a grad transfer from an article on 11 Warriors not previously mentioned in this thread. The guy from Pacific would be a grant transfer.

The other transfers in the article have been previously mentioned.

Edit: this guy has been mentioned on the previous page:frown:

pedon now following ehab amin, a 6'4" guard from tamu-corpus christi who redshirted last season due to injury. announced the grad transfer yesterday. averaged 16.9 points (72% from the line, 29% behind the arc), 6.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 3.4 steals, and and 2.8 turnovers for 2016-17. as a freshman and sophomore, he did nothing against teams with a pulse, but he did have good numbers against tamu, st. mary's, and oksu as a junior, including 9 combined steals. in fact, he led the nation in steals that season, so those numbers against good teams probably weren't a fluke.

amin is from egypt and attended a military academy in wisconsin for his senior season, which he missed due to injury, so my guess is he's pretty open to playing in any region.

pedon now following nico carvacho, a 6'11" pf/c from colorado state who is a redshirt sophomore that announced earlier this month that he's considering a transfer. carvacho is also following pedon. carvacho averaged 9.2 points (61% from the line) and 10.3 rebounds for 2017-18. he led the mountain west in rebounding during conference play and was far more productive in the second half of the season.

a lot of press regarding the Walker visit this weekend. I do not think they will take 2 non grad transfers. Even though it might get the show on the road a little quicker with them taking a PG grad transfer also

yeah, two conventional transfers would surprise me as well. however, if they were to take two conventional transfers, a point guard and a center would be the positions that make the most sense. as of right now, something we look to be lacking for the 2019 team is frontcourt length. both kaleb and potter play short while young and ledee are still just 6'7". gaffney is a very long 6'9" and would help, but that boy needs a meal or twenty.

Rivals and ESPN list LeDee at 6'9". OSU listed Young at 6'8".

We most definitely need 2 PGs in these 2 classes (my assumption is that Muhammad and Washington are better suited for the 2 and not well utilized as PGs which is why we are looking at so many PG options). It would be best if we got 1 this year and 1 next. And if one of those was a transfer with only a couple of years of eligibility, could still take Penn in '20.
