Mullens, Buford team up

Ohio State?s two top-rated incoming freshmen, center B.J. Mullens of Canal Winchester and guard William Buford of Toledo Libbey, will play on the Blue team in the Jordan Brand Classic on Saturday night in Madison Square Garden in New York. The game begins at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.
Michigan State-bound forward Delvon Roe of Lakewood St. Edward will be a member of the White team but will not play. Roe had microfracture knee surgery in December. St. Edward coach Eric Flannery will be an assistant coach on the White team.

Wallace leaving; Serbian visiting?

Updated with new information
Earlier today, we wrote in this space that Ohio State?s interest in a 6-foot-9 forward from Eastern Arizona College was another sign that coach Thad Matta believes Kosta Koufos is turning professional.
The logic was that Matta might need Koufos? scholarship if the forward, Nicola Kecman, decides he wants to play for the Buckeyes.
Now Matta will not.
Late this afternoon, Ohio State announced freshman Eric Wallace plans to transfer after the spring quarter.

Wallace?s decision was surprising because he had said midway through last season, when asked if he had thought of transferring, that he understood why he wasn?t playing more and was here for the long haul.
?I chose Ohio State because I felt this was the place I was supposed to be,? he said. ?I love the team, I love the guys, I love (the coaches) and all of them. I?m here and I?m a Buckeye. I?ll graduate from here, get drafted from here, however it goes down.?
It went down today.

It would be nice to get both and if Simmons could bring us what Foster brought for a couple years that would be excellent. I think Kecman is a much different type of player than George. He seems to be from all reports more perimeter oriented.

Oh ya... I'm comparing contribution and impact not style.

Yeah I heard from one of the best that we got both of them...

Since I was away from the board, thought I should get it to you guys...

BTW staff loves these two...

Look for Kecman to stretch the defense...46% from 3 point range is better than Butler shot this year and he was shooting form the distance the line is going to be next year...

:oh:
