OSU Men's Basketball Recruiting/Projections/General Discussions

I have the feeling that there are at least four more dominoes to fall yet this offseason. Kaleb turning pro will be one. I am assuming there will be at least one other transfer/departure from the current roster. OSU will need to land a grad transfer big. Then the last piece may be figuring out who to add as backup PG - probably an immediately eligible transfer, but a prep prospect isn't out of the question. If there are two more guys aside from Kaleb that are leaving, then that would leave room for Holt to get his sit-out transfer.

I think we need to find a transfer at the PG position..............I would be comfortable finding a kid who has to sit the year.........
it's a curious situation. as we found out after carton departed, having a tertiary ballhandler could be vital. i don't think muhammad will become that guy, though i wish he would. the problem is that we're (probably) not going to secure a point/combo guard who wants major minutes for next year, especially since our 2-guards will necessarily get big minutes. so that leaves a lower-level transfer. i'm not even sure we could get a guy like quinnipiac's rich kelly.

for the sake of continuity, a sit-one transfer or a conventional recruit like carter whitt might make the most sense. otherwise, a guard who is happy with only 8ish minutes per game. a guard we may not even need since washington should pick up the slack. and the good thing about washington sliding over is that it opens up more minutes for our glut of wings.

As I mentioned in the Gaffney thread if KW decided to go pro I would try and get Carter Whitt if he reclassifies. If he does not reclassify, I guess I will look for the best grad transfer PG or maybe one of the guys currently on the team could play some minutes at PG to give Walker some rest. I guess quite a bit depends upon what KW decides to do.

future rosters as things stand now. what sticks out most to me is the number of players we're set to lose after the 2021-22 season. rosters are obviously fluid, but that's a ton of attrition, especially at the wing.

another grad transfer whom pedon has just started following: kevin marfo. he's a 6'8" power forward out of quinnipiac who led the nation in rebounds.

it appears that two stories about our current roster are being told by pedon's recent follows.
osu is not in marfo's final list. you'd think we would be if kaleb's not going to be here. then again, kaleb hasn't announced anything yet.
