Ortiz vs. Liddell UFC 66

Tough spot for a ref. I'm a Tito supporter and I don't feel the stoppage was unjustified. They have to protect the fighter first and foremost. Tito probably could have soldiered on, but that would have just been delaying the inevitable.

Chuck's just better than Tito. Plain and simple.

hard to say it was inevitable. The fights turn so quick. I just hate to see it end like that, it wasn't like Tito was out. I am bitter.

I agree. Tito got his ass kicked. Plain and simple. He seemed afraid of Liddel and was lucky the ref stepped in and he didn't get seriously hurt.
he was so afraid that he stood toe to toe with him. Are you serious? February 3rd, CroCop and Rampage are going to run game.

you aren't sitting here in you "team punishment" gear as 6 of your friends that are cheering for Liddell are mocking you. I still claim bullshit. They just left so I am going to go cry now.

If any of my friends woulda done that to me...I woulda went all ICEMAN on em. That'd shut 'em up.

Tito will never be known as a striker. He can't stand and trade punches with someone as lethal as Chuck. He just doesn't have the pop.

I will say that Tito wasn't badly hurt when the fight was stopped, however, he wasn't doing anything to improve his position either.

Tito ushered Shamrock into retirement, now it seems he's taken his place. :tongue2:

Tito is far from done, he's 31 years old. When Chuck was 31 no one heard of him. Tito is far from done. Liddell gets KO'd by Rampage (again) when they fight, May maybe? Can't wait.

The stoppage was quick. Tito was just starting to make a break-away move when the fight was called. The end result was probably inevitable, but things can change so quickly.

Overall, Lindell dominated the fight, so I guess it's hard to argue that the ref really affected anything.

I thought you watched the Chuck Rampage fight? The refs stopped it, it was not a knockout. How many times am I going to hear that the next fighter going to beat Chuck? Till he fights a decent fighter like Wanderlia (who will also lose in the cage without his stomps) Chuck wont be beat. Tito is so not the fighter that he was when held the belt. His nothing but GnP will never win a big fight.

The ref stopped it but Chuck was done. He was getting repeated punches and forarms to the boday and head, I shouldn't have put KO but that was the direction it was headed. Chuck was on his back getting pounded on. He looked pretty KO'd while he laid on the canvas as the doctors tended to him for a few minutes. As for ground and pound never winning a big fight ask Chuck about the fight Couture beat him. Sure looked like G and P to me.
