Oregon at tOSU, Sep 11th, Noon ET on Fox

I was spending the night over at my friend's house and we were watching the game. His dad stated going ballistic about mid-2nd quarter. Multiple "F#&K!!!!!", "GOD F#&KING DAMMIT!!!" with mom shouting "KEN, KIDS!" About 3 minutes into the 4th quarter he ripped his OSU tee-shirt off Hulk Hogan style. It was a wild scene.

That’s my dad’s name and that sounds an awful lot like him during games……other than the Hulk-a-Mania move.

Stroud good but you got to make the winning plays.Lots. Of empty calories.
Don't disagree here, but I think it's important to remember he was playing in his second game as a college QB. If you are relying on your inexperienced QB to bail you out, there are other issues.

I'm not a fan of moral victories, but the fact that they battled their way back after the D was continually getting gashed and the O wasn't closing says a lot to me about the character of this team & the coaches. It at least gives me a sliver of hope that this can still turn into a pretty damn good season. It might be easier for me because I'm not a fan that is "NC (or playoffs) or bust" every year. Occasionally a recalibration is needed. This looks like maybe one of those years and if so, that's okay. A B1G title and a win over scUM is still pretty fucking exciting to me.

It's also important to remember that after the VT loss in 2014 soooooo many were writing the season off and saying Urban has lost it. CFB overreact to fucking everything.

I don’t believe in the hype machine but when coaches are not totally honest regarding their units it builds false confidence in fans and players. When the D was on the field the sideline was pretty fired up.,but certain players..Olave for one acted like he knew what was happening.

I dunno y'all. I like CJ, he makes some great throws even though they are usually late, and I think the reason I'm so critical is that within the past 10 years, usually an Ohio State quarterback comes in and they are always ready... whether it be Kenny Guiton, or J T Barrett, or cardale Jones, they've always been ready... CJ looks like he's not ready until the third quarter of the game he's playing in... I remember Justin fields coming up here and balling out after he only had 20 so snaps in Georgia, so I really can't buy into the whole "he's a freshman cut him some slack" thing... he is surrounded by one of the best coaching staffs in the entire country. he should be ready to dominate on day one. if not, then we know where the problem is.

Expecting perfection from a 19 year old with exactly zero experience throwing the ball is stupid. Stop already. Let the kid develop.

Unfortunately we’ve been spoiled, Fields while was a Soph when he came in had some experience and was clearly on a different level. Haskins was a Junior when he started… last time we had a RS Fresh start was … Barrett right?

also unfortunately is you got places pushing agendas (no one here just saying out in the swamps of the internet) like a kid that has been on campus for maybe a month and already has some crazy NIL deals…
