Game Thread Orange Bowl: tOSU vs Clemson, Jan 3, 8:30 ET, ESPN

Ask that Clemson fan has he seen what Connor Cook and MSU, one of the worst offenses in American, just did to our defense. Then ask said Clemson fan does he expect Boyd to throw for less yards than Connor Cook? I'd be shocked if Clemson threw the ball less than 50 times.
Exactly. The response would be to have Boyd throw the ball 75% of the time. Movable object meet irresistible force.

From a Clemson fan:

Just run QB draws with B. Miller all game and you have nothing to worry about. Go see the Clemson-SCar game this year. 3 & 18 and they convert with QB draw everytime.
We can't stop a running QB. You guys win pretty simply IMO, I won't say it will be a blowout, but I do believe you win by 14 or so.

I'm going to take a guess that they did not watch our last game.

Perhaps people are still getting over the MSU game, but it doesn't seem like a lot of Buckeye fans are really into this game yet. (Based on ticket prices, some articles and forums I've read) In my opinion, this is a very important game for NEXT YEAR. If OSU wins this game, I think there's a good chance 11-1 or 12-1 gets OSU into the 4 team playoff. Otherwise, it's win them all or be left out. Winning a BCS bowl against a team that was ranked in the top 5, most of the year, will make an impact on national perception. You want respect as a team and as a conference, you go out and beat teams that are perceived as national powers. It worked for Clemson last year, (With their win over LSU) they just couldn't follow through this year.

Agreed. We need the practice for our returning players for next year and some momentum heading into next year. Considering the 1-loss team could get us in the playoffs, there is certainly some validity to that. The perception of the Big Ten is at an all-time low and hopefully we can get that up this season. I really think we can, as I do believe that Iowa, Wisconsin, Sparty, and perhaps Minnesota all have very solid teams that could get bowl wins. Even our lower tier Penn State, scUM, and Nebraska teams could get wins with the right matchups. However, our game might be the biggest because Clemson is still perceived to have a great team and I would like to see the Big Ten #2 take down the ACC #2. And finally, we do owe it to our seniors to try and send them off on the right note. These guys have been through so much adversity and choose to stick with the program until the very end.

All that being said, the real reason for the massive hangover is losing the last game. I know at least personally that if we had say lost to Wisconsin, then beat scUM and Sparty to go to the Orange (which I know would actually be the Rose, just saying this for argument sake), then a one-loss season and BCS bowl seems much better. But losing in the last game and losing a shot at not only the NCG, but also the Rose, is a devastating downgrade to palate last minute. I know the Orange is a BCS game, but it does not feel like it. Personally, I just don't see much of a difference between the Orange, Gator Bowl, Alamo, etc. The Rose Bowl would have been a different story. Regardless, come January 3rd I will have my new Buckeyes pullover on and will be rooting on my Bucks with my dad back in Ohio the same as any January.

Ignore the lying Coqui. He's as much a Clemson fan as I am a fan of the crack houses surrounding Williams-Brice Stadium.

I don't get why everyone thinks we should play Freshmen for the last game. Particularly some of the ones who'd be losing their Redshirt for 1 game.
We've already seen most of the non-RS defensive guys play in junk time against PSU, Purdue, and/or Indiana.
The only player I'd like to see more of, in a game we need to win, is Burrows. The rest haven't demonstrated they're ready on the field yet. As unimpressive as Brown has been at times, he's acquitted himself better than the Safeties behind him in the depth chart when they've played. It could be they would have developed if they played more earlier in the season; but I doubt they're going to suddenly become world beaters at this late stage in the season.
If we were going to make a drastic / desperate change at Safety I'd prefer to see Burrows start at CB and Roby move to Safety. I think that's as likely as any of the Special Teams freshmen starting a BCS bowl game (barring injuries / suspensions /etc.)

Well, yeah. That's because he's an Ohio State fan who just happens to be posting something a Clemson fan posted elsewhere.

Come on, man. His screen name is Coqui, aka Cocky. Not a Clemson fan.

Coqui = Puerto Rican = not pronounced Cocky or Cockwee

As Fungo said, this was something I read by a Clemson fan elsewhere. And I'm pretty well established here, but I'm not old enough to have been around here from when the last time Clemson played Ohio State. So I never claimed to be a Clemson fan I'm a Buckeye.

I'm trying to figure out why you think PSU is capable of winning a bowl game this year.
