Looks like it's you and me big boy...

6-6 Bryant vs 6-6 Bethune Ck.

the battle of the mid levels..the battle of the averages...the battle of the titanic mediocres...the clash of ordinary...the war of weaklings...

the right to claim " I am average at best. But I bested your average"

yup. I just added Morehead St to week one. So I get a warm up.

Glad to see you guys enjoyed it enough to stick around for another season! Big day today, invites going out, recruiting season is the best time of the year...

Yup. sent out 50 invites in football. Got like 15 visitors. I was too aggressive with the talent I was trying to lure in.

Baseball, I had much better returns. could land a few starters in this class.

I sent out all 90. got 41 visitors. but 10 of them are kickers - my kicking game was nearly the worst in all of football last season.

there are some positions that are hard as hell to get a guy...qb and ol

I'm only #1 on two non kickers. I'm last on nearly everybody....that means I'm screwed I would think. Got them to visit but that might be it. Might be banking some schollies this year........

---neither one of you are a competitor for ANY of my guys....that's kinda weird I thought.

You know you're supposed to give out scholarships in recruiting, right scooter? :tongue2:

Don't know how you got an A+ recruit in CMEL without a scholarship, but Hagler's a good one for B-C. But seriously, in round one, if you have available scholarships, you should be offering them to virtually every invitee and recruit you go after.

Nice class for Bryant! Taking advantage of the PTPs, I see, and getting some useful players, good job BSH.

Thank Bay! I see you cleaned up however --#1 class - WOW. I'm sure C. Ark is probably at the top for Tier 3 without looking.

I finally got a punter (hope those 13 yard squibs are a thing of the past).
Got my TE who I have already shifted to OL.

I'm afraid because I can't recruit any OL(or DL or QB for that matter) that my OL will consist mostly of TE and some FB's. I can't think that is a good thing but I'm not sure what else to do. My TE's are the only ones that have any blocking abilities. Though I am trying the 10 weight OL w/ no blocking this year and I guess I'll see how that works out. I seem to be able to recruit TE but barely can get a lineman on either side of the ball to even visit let alone sign. ugh.

Not sure how I got him either, but I gave him one as soon as I signed him. I thought I promised him a schollie.

It seems all the players I offered schollies to didn't sign with me. The ones I didn't offer did. Go figure.

Hagler will be my 1st baseman on day one.

My advice: OTs Brennan/Hooker/Daniels, C Davis/Kirk, OGs McGee/White/Bochenek, with Bochenek as short-yardage specialist. Then Donnelly and Hyde as starters at FB/TE depending on your preferences at those positions. Reif is a solid TB and your WRs are strong, I think your offense is actually pretty good.

I have only been using the computer sort to figure out what the computer likes as OL and then trying to put people in the right spot. Do you normally put the biggest guys at OT or OG...do you put the guys that have better PB at OT and the guys that have better RB at OG? I know it's not perfect because maybe they don't fit the "model"...and then everyone seems to want the highest I for an OL at Center.

Your selections would probably differ from mine - so I'm just trying to figure out the rationale behind it so I know moving forward what I might be missing.

This is how the computer ranks them as straight OL(I just added TE's Kelly and Perez in the 2nd round):

1 14337 R.Brennan OT Sr 1 5 1 3 5 3 4 0 15 -- 417.3
2 4801 N.Davis OG So 1 2 1 3 5 5 4 4 7 -- 400.4
3 6393 T.McGhee OT Jr 0 1 1 5 6 5 2 2 15 -- 392.5
4 11698 M.Bochenek OG Fr 0 10 4 1 1 2 1 0 9 -- 390.0
5 5104 H.Donnelly FB Jr 3 4 4 4 4 4 1 5 9 -- 385.0
6 13955 P.Hooker OG So 1 2 3 1 5 4 3 7 13 -- 369.9
7 9614 P.White C So 0 1 1 3 3 7 5 0 10 -- 364.9
8 12155 R.Coleman OT Sr 0 2 2 1 5 4 2 1 17 -- 355.6
9 12546 H.Daniels OG So 1 5 1 1 4 2 2 0 13 -- 345.9
10 7144 T.Hyde FB Fr 3 4 3 1 5 1 4 5 11 -- 333.5
11 1930 M.Kelly TE So 6 2 1 2 5 3 4 1 8 -- 331.6
12 11530 A.Kirk C Fr 1 5 1 1 3 2 1 1 6 -- 311.1
13 14603 M.Perez TE Fr 0 0 1 2 5 4 2 6 8 -- 304.4
14 9611 R.Wain C So 1 3 2 3 5 1 2 4 8 -- 294.6

Forgot to add that Davis, Kirk, Kelly, Hooker and Perez can all be redshirted which probably would be a good move for me right now. All maybe except Davis, he is probably too good for me to sit.

OKAY SCRATCH ALL THAT....HERE IS AFTER TRAINING CAMP:

1 14337 R.Brennan OT Sr 1 5 2 3 5 3 4 0 16 -- 417.3
2 4801 N.Davis OG So 1 1 1 3 6 5 5 4 8 -- 407.7
3 14686 R.Phillips TE Fr 3 1 2 2 7 4 3 4 8 -- 401.3
4 11698 M.Bochenek OG Fr 0 10 4 1 1 2 2 0 10 -- 393.7
5 12155 R.Coleman OT Sr 0 2 2 1 6 4 3 1 18 -- 392.1
6 5104 H.Donnelly FB Jr 3 4 4 4 4 4 2 5 11 -- 388.8
7 14603 M.Perez OT Fr 0 1 1 2 6 4 3 6 14 -- 371.7
8 13955 P.Hooker OG So 1 2 4 1 5 4 3 7 14 -- 369.9
9 1930 M.Kelly TE So 5 2 2 2 5 4 5 1 10 -- 366.9
10 6393 T.McGhee OT Jr 1 1 2 5 5 5 2 2 16 -- 359.6
11 12546 H.Daniels OG So 1 5 2 1 4 2 2 1 16 -- 347.6
12 9614 P.White C So 0 1 1 3 3 6 6 0 12 -- 337.3
13 9611 R.Wain C So 1 3 2 3 6 1 2 4 9 -- 327.7
15 11530 A.Kirk C Fr 1 5 1 1 3 2 1 1 9 -- 311.1

I guess I need to move Phillips to OL now.

Didn't take the promotion to Teir II? What's up?

Nah. Thought about it. I'd like to build up some coach points, try to build up this team, maybe win a playoff game.

I feel like I've only started to crack the playcalling on the defensive side. Offensively, I've barely done much.

I think I need to "marinate" at Tier 3 a bit longer.

Plus, I would have wanted to go to Northern Illinois, but that team was blocked so I'm staying.

Plus we had a home and home...hahaha
