Geeesh. Someone please tell me that Snoop's 15 minutes of fame is done? Guy's got more lives than a cat. PS, can anyone tell me what he actually does, except show up, and do commercials?
Snoop's dad is from Detroit and is friends with a co-worker. He got them luxury suites in Minn for her husband's birthday a few weeks ago. Flew them out and then blew them out.

2024 Olympics golf leaderboard: Scottie Scheffler wins gold medal with course-record 62 in astounding effort

Scheffler shot arguably the round of his life to win gold for the United States in Paris at Le Golf National

If there was any doubt over the last couple of months, Scottie Scheffler erased it Sunday at the 2024 Paris Olympics: The 28-year-old American remains the gold standard in professional golf. Scheffler shot a final-round, course-record-tying 62 at Le Golf National to win the Olympic gold medal, finishing the week 19 under for a one-stroke victory over Great Britain's Tommy Fleetwood.

Just sayin': He entered the fourth and final round at Le Golf National in a tie for sixth place following the third round, in which he shot four under par for the round with six birdies and two bogeys. Nine birdies in the final round top win the GOLD; still the #1 golfer in the world......:gagnam:

Simone Biles Makes Blunt Statement on Competing in 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles

“Never say never,” Biles told USA Today. “The next Olympics is at home, so you just never know. But I am getting really old.”

Just sayin':
1) I "googled" this:
Who is the oldest female Olympic gymnast to ever win a medal?
At age 27, Biles is also the oldest female gymnast to achieve the feat in 72 years – second only to Maria Gorokhovskaya who won the title at age 30 during the 1952 Helsinki Games
2) Who knew that she was actually born in Columbus, Ohio?

I did.

She was in South-Western City Schools until 1st or 2nd grade along with her sister.

From her Wiki...
"Biles was born on March 14, 1997, in Columbus, Ohio,[16] the third of four siblings.[17] Her birth mother, Shanon Biles, was unable to care for Simone or her other children. All four went in and out of foster care.[17][18]

In 2000, Biles' maternal grandfather, Ron Biles, and his second wife, Nellie Cayetano Biles,[19] began caring temporarily for Shanon's children in the north Houston suburb of Spring, Texas, after learning his grandchildren were in foster care. In 2003, the couple formally adopted Simone and her younger sister Adria."

It is an inspiring story, for sure.

2024 Olympics: Noah Lyles delivers on promise with first 100-meter gold medal for United States in 20 years

The Americans won gold and bronze in the 100 meters during a history-making performance

Delivering on his promise to bring sprinting success back to the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics, American breakout star Noah Lyles captured his first gold medal of the 2024 Paris Olympics winning the 100 meters by 0.005 over Jamaica's Kishane Thompson. Lyles (9.784) became the fastest man in the world setting a personal best and barely edging Kishane (9.789) with fellow American Fred Kerley (9.810) taking bronze.

Just sayin': Maybe it is only by 0.005 seconds; but Lyles is now considered the fastest man in the world.

A couple Olympic firsts (trivia):

Meet the Nations That Have Never Won an Olympic Medal (and Two That Just Did)

Every once in a while, though, a new nation joins the club. On Saturday night at the Stade de France, Thea LaFond-Gadson, 30, of the Caribbean island of Dominica, won the gold medal in women’s triple jump. And Julien Alfred, 23, of St. Lucia, also in the Caribbean, won the gold medal in the women’s 100-meter sprint. Each medal was the first for their nation.

“It means a lot to the small islands,” Alfred said. “And seeing how we can come from a small place but also be on the biggest stage of our career.”

For countries and territories that have always competed in vain, Saturday’s medalists provided renewed hope: If they can do it, why can’t we?

Just sayin': The first ever Olympic medals for St. Lucia and Dominica and they were GOLD.

15 minutes? Seriously? Snoop was a revolutionary artist in West Coast rap and has remained relevant for another 30 years afterwards. Now, he's just living his best life and doing whatever the fuck a legend chooses to do.

"I want to play in my hijab, she wants to play in a bikini," Expressen reported Egypt's Doaa Elghobashy as saying. "Everything is OK, if you want to be naked or wear a hijab. Just respect all different cultures and religions."

FWIW, Spain defeated Egypt in straight sets.

Just sayin': I am anxiously awaiting a female sand volleyball match between countries that choose to play naked........:boogie:

Love watching badminton and table tennis at the Olympics. Makes pickleball look like a total joke of a sport...which it is.
Badminton is great.

Although there was an All-time Announcer’s Jinx in the women’s singles badminton semis. The Spanish player was up a set and up 10-5 in the second when the announcer said (paraphrasing) “The 2016 Olympic champion is showing no signs of the two knee injuries that prevented her from defending her gold medal in Tokyo. So far in Paris she’s been playing great.” On the very next point she tore an ACL, which not only prevented her from finishing that match and clinching at least a silver medal, but caused her to get no medal at all. She was in physical and emotional agony laying on the court.

Literally the very next point, seconds after those comments were made. It was eerily sad.
