OL Thayer Munford (1st Team All B1G, 1st Team All-American, Las Vegas Raiders)

Really happy for Thayer and hoping he sees nothing but success at tOSU and wherever his life leads him afterward. He was the player who was ruled ineligible by the OHSAA after moving from Cincinnati to Massillon.

THAYER MUNFORD WILL LIKELY START AT LEFT TACKLE

Ohio State sophomore offensive lineman Thayer Munford is on the ascension. Coaches praised Munford throughout spring practice, including Meyer saying he had "penciled in" Munford as the starting right tackle.

Meyer, however, deployed Munford at left tackle with senior tackle Isaiah Prince manning the offensive line's right flank in Saturday's spring game.

Offensive line coach Greg Studrawa told reporters Wednesday that Munford will likely replace the departed Jamarco Jones at left tackle when Ohio State faces Oregon State on Sept. 1.

I just wonder if he projects as an OT or on the inside. Ohio State needs tackles, we don't need more guys who can play in the middle.
Think he can be a tackle. Great feet and good athleticism at his size. Has already shed about 30 pounds in the last year or so. Made significant jump from junior to senior years. If he can continue on that arc he could be a nice player down the road.
Bump for standing with Wade.

Potential starting O Line next year:

Munford, Jordan (if he stays), Myers, Bowen, NPF

Wavy Dub an option at either gaurd spot. Max Wray also an option somewhere. If Prince declares early and Bowen and Jordan stay however this would be my guess and it would be nasty.

You make it seem as if the starting O line for this year: Munford, Jordan, Taylor, Knox and Prince isn't just as nasty. Outside of munford and Taylor all returning starters . And Taylor has been able to sit and learn behind the past 2 Rimington award winners

Just FYI--there will be no "declaring early" for Prince. He's out of eligibility after this coming season.

Keeping The Prince at RT always made sense to me. Let Munford and Bowen fight it out at LT.

Just sayin': They are both right handed, so you (usually) want your best offensive tackle on the QB's blind side (i.e. left)
