OL Michael Brewster (Official Thread)

Bears repeating...

Scout Scouting Report said:
He is a dominating drive blocker that once he locks up on you it?s all over. Brewster has super leg drive and is overpowering at the point of attack. Equally impressive is the way he blocks on the move when pulling and trapping. Brewster shows excellent quickness for a big man and is tough even when he gets to the second level. You also have to love Brewster?s motor as he plays until the whistle blows. He is always moving and attacking.

I have a nasty streak and a will to win. I'm a leader and can take control of a the game from the o-line. I play smart and always try to help my team. I play with passion, but stay calm.

I really need to learn the pass protection more. It's really big in college and not very common in high school. I'd also like to bulk up and get stronger.

One of the top overall prospects in the state of Florida's 2008 class, Brewster played his sophomore season at Lake Highland Prep and will play his junior year at Edgewater. He's already one of the state's best linemen and his best days are still way ahead of him; Brewster benches 380 pounds and has a 25-inch vertical jump.

Brewster added Scout.com All-Combine First Team honors after impressing the Scouts at the U.S. Army Junior Combine that was held in San Antonio in early January.

Brewster reports a 3.5 core GPA and a 930 SAT, which he plans to retake.

I like the fact that he is leaning toward becoming a center. With all the hype around LT these days, it's exciting that a very talented recruit is looking at moving to the middle. Also opens up room for Jenkins (fingers crossed) at the LG - I'd imagine that he and Adams will be able open some nice holes for Herron/Saine/Torrence.

Congrats Mike! Thanks for becoming a Buckeye...
