Still, Penn St. is usually right there with us in recruiting too.

Both services' rankings only go back to 2002:

RIVALS
YEAR OSU PSU
2007 15th 23rd
2006 12th 6th
2005 12th 25th
2004 9th 14th
2003 N/R N/R
2002 5th 21st

One year better than us (2006), two years within 10 places (2004, 2007), and two years more than a dozen places behind (2002, 2005)...one year both not ranked (2003).

SCOUT
YEAR OSU PSU
2007 16th 19th
2006 13th 6th
2005 7th N/R
2004 11th 12th
2003 25th N/R
2002 3rd 16th

One year better than us (2006), three years within 10 places (2004, 2006, 2007), and two years more than a dozen places behind (2002, 2005)...one year one 25th and one not ranked (2003).

So, all this depends on what you think is "right there with us". We've outrecruited them (according to the rankings anyways) in five of six years, but they've been close in all but a couple years.

What's more important is what has been done with those classes. Let's give each class to be in their second year, on average, to get get fully involved:

RECORDS
YEAR OSU PSU
2003 11-2 3-9
2004 8-4 4-7
2005 11-2 11-1
2006 12-1 9-4

RANKINGS
YEAR OSU PSU
2003 #4 NR
2004 #20/#19 NR
2005 #4 #3
2006 #2 #24/#25

Congrats to Mike and welcome to the Buckeye family...

Nice work by Greg...it isn't always easy to have an interview done and havea to sit on it at the request of the family but it was a classy move by Greg and the Scout guys. Great work as usual...
