I spoke with his Dad last night and wished him luck whatever his a decision was.....I said I'd stop in to see him next time in Tennessee....he said i May see you first.
Based on rumblings from other teams' boards, it appears he was sold on UGA until they wanted him to play OG, to which he and his family did not agree.
While I can understand UGA's rationale, most recruiting services have him as an OT, and if Urban sees him as an OT, he should be more than fine at the position.
Ultimately, although it's highly possible Max would be great at OG as well, our pressing need for tackles and his desire to play tackle at the next level makes this a win-win for both sides.
I saw this on my phone and even had to remind myself on the profanity rules on this board (obviously in a good way). This is such a crucial commitment on every level. First, Max is extremely talented and I see a future tackle all the way in our system....we need OT's badly in this class. Second, this is unequivocally a win over Bama...the talk was certainly that the decomitt came because he was headed to Bama...huge upset here. Third, Max just seems like the closest you can get to a sure thing in recruiting, he just has that attitude you want in an OL. Fourth, his brother is a huge talent and this obviously helps. Just a huge get, welcome home Max!
He pulled the trigger quicker than I thought he would. Sounded like a significant lean last week when citing things like picking a school based on prep for life after football. That's a line right out of Urban's recruiting playbook.
Regardless, huge get and looking forward to seeing him in S&G.
