OL Justin Boren (Official Thread)

Karma will end up getting that school up north for how they treated one of their own. Funny enough, it'll be the one they ridiculed releasing the wrath of that Karma this November.

I can't think of a single Buckeye legacy ever signing with scUM. The Borens are the 3rd and 4th scUM legacies (joins Gonzo and Downing) to commit to us in the last 6 years alone!

It is upsetting that Howard can't learn to shut his mouth, it's truly sickening that whenever Herbie even says the slightest "pro-buckeye" remark he's destroyed yet Howard can say whatever he wants without any resentment from the media company he represents.

Welcome Justin, let's turn your dad into an Ohio-Guy.

Eh, he's a goofy little pixie that nobody really takes all that seiously. I'm no fan of Herbie, but at least he can offer some insight from time to time. Desmond just sits there, smiles and giggles for the camera barely hiding his school-boy crush on Chris Fowler.

i think the thing i find most disturbing in all of this is the viciousness of the official responses. you expect players, fans and really even the media to take shots at boren. this is a pretty nasty break up after all. but you don't expect to hear official responses along the lines of "he was lazy" "he was out of shape" " he doesn't want to play". not just because his last 2 years in college football seem to indicate differently, but because that is flat out wrong to say even if it is true. if any company went on record as having said that about an ex employee they'd get sued big time. but in college football its ok i guess...

dickrod needs to develop some class. or if he thought he was actually having an off the record conversation with howard, he needs to develop some situational awareness. some friendly advise mr. rod. your mouth's movin, you may want to see to that.

Even worse, to hear a former Ohio high school player that went to scUM bash someone else about not being loyal.

Exactly. DH can stay the F out of Ohio. He is a punk. You want to talk family values and class? That vag-inistic taunting Heisman pose against us in 1991 still makes my blood boil. Do you think a Jim Tressel coached player would do something like that? No. That's something an SEC coach would allow...

Justin Boren had a right to go to scUM in 2006 and he has a right to leave scUM in 2008. Would I feel differently about this situation if I were a scUM fan? Absolutely, and you have to be kidding yourself if you say otherwise.

No one knows if Boren really had attitude problems at scUM or not, but let me ask this question - who the hell is Desmond Howard to voice what some unnamed coward in the scUM program said about Boren? The comments are unsubstantiated unless they have video of Boren whining about conditioning - which they don't because if they did, Rich Rod probably shredded it.

Call me idealistic, but I assume that the son of a former scUM football player (especially one as good as Mike Boren) would probably have had a significant work ethic instilled in him. A work ethic which allowed him to start as a true freaking freshman at what some people consider an elite program.

The fact that both of Mike's kids are headed to Columbus is a sign that something's rotten in Denmark.

And just as he hosed the Redskins when they drafted him 17 years ago, Desmond Howard has hosed Justin Boren. Desmond, go to hell.

Justin, welcome to the good side. Oh by the way, according to my sources, the scUM players who told Desmond that you complained all the time were interior defensive lineman. Just FYI.

While what Howard claimed the players said to him could've been true, they might just be touting the party line spelled out by RR for damage control. Or it might've been true that Boren was disenchanged with the establishment after RR got into AA. In any case, there were no complaints about Boren when Carr was the head coach. Boren's performance in THE GAME over his career would establish whether the world views him as a complainer/slacker or as a player with a genuine grievance with RR. I for one, would be very happy to see him pancake Campbell a few times.

This is okay. Just imagine the motivation Mike will have (especially up against a certain team up North) because of these comments. Like someone said earlier in this thread, karma is a bitch....

Evidently the kid has some balls & confidence. Other than the fact of being a member on the OSU team, I don't think I would want to be in his shoes. He made a gutsy decision & he'll be hearing it from people like Howard for the rest of his career.:osu:
