OL Justin Boren (Official Thread)

Best of luck to Justin, except in the last regular season game each year. Like folks have said, it's good to find out early so we can move on.

Nevada...Question regarding Boren's notifying the OSU..

coaches that he had made his decision. The Wolverine Rivals site has an interview with Boren wherein he discusses his decision to commit to the
ScUmers. In the article it states that Boren e-mailed the OSU coaches on
Friday and then drove up to A.A.
My question is this..... the OSU coaches have been recruiting Boren for 2+years and you have described the relationship as solid; ie. Boren was in love with the Bucks. Living only minutes from the campus I would guess that personal contact was steady and personal(and legal). With all this as a given, does it not seem to cut against the grain that his formal rejection of the Bucks was by e-mail and not a phone call or short drive to campus.
Perhaps I'm being naive or idealistic.....just curious.

I keep coming back to the fact that the big turn around was at the Nike camp when he talked to Bo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there supposed to be NO recruiting going on at those camps? How is rolling out Bo's old bones for a sit down not a recruiting tool?

Didn't LLLLoyd bitch and moan a few years back because he felt that holding the NIKE camp at Ohio State was an unfair recruiting advantage?

Well....??

I thought I remembered reading something like that.

I think that your quotation marks are very well placed Mili.

"Incidental" and "Chance" meetings.

What good luck for the Wolverines that Bo happened to run into Justin while he was there :roll2:

I doubt that was his intention, besides it is better then how I handled the situition. I changed my mind about where I wanted to go to college and was far too much of a coward to let the coach know, so i kept calling and hanging up hoping to get his answering machine with no such luck until I called at 1 a.m. so I could leave the message.

I appreciate your insight. Boren is being raked over the coals on the Zone
for the choice of the e-mail to communicate his intentions.. I simply wish there was a way to shed light on the matter. Until then, those Zone attacks , IMO, are presumptive and frankly unfair.

well

Whats funny is everyone is up in arms. Come on, As many have said these are 17/18 yr old kids. Who are under a ton of stress.

Recruiting is all about relationships and going where you feel most comfortable. Obviously he felt more comfortable at scUM.
