COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Ohio State gets commitment from another top lineman
Wednesday, April 25, 2007

J.B. Shugarts, one of the top-ranked junior offensive linemen in the country, verbally committed to play football at Ohio State.

Shugarts is the third lineman ranked in the top 10 by various recruiting services to announce he is coming to Ohio State. The 6-foot-7, 285-pounder from Klein High School in Texas, joins Michael Brewster (Orlando, Fla.) and Mike Adams (Dublin Coffman).

Those three, along with Kyle Long, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Howie Long, are close friends. Brewster told The Repository if Long did not get taken in the 2008 Major League Baseball draft, he believed Long also would play football at Ohio State.

The Columbus Dispatch
Ohio State added a third towering offensive lineman to its 2008 football recruiting class yesterday with the commitment of J.B. Shugarts of Klein, Texas. Shugarts, 6 feet 7, 299 pounds, joins 6-6, 305-pound Michael Brewster, who committed Monday, and 6-8, 305-pound Mike Adams. All are considered among the elite linemen available nationally. Shugarts was rated No. 2 in Texas by two recruiting services.
His coach, Stan Labay, knows why.

That was a mistake by Texas A&M's Scout site, not bucknuts. The article was pulled very quickly.
Actually it was 'scoutnuts' if you want to get picky :P

aTm's scout site prepped two articles in case Shugarts chose aTm or OSU, and both were unintentionally published... rather than being placed in the queue.

After both were removed, Shugarts then had his presser announcement, leading to the official stories.
