I'm very excited about this O-line class! Should be interesting to see who else decided to pull the trigger in the near future. :osu:

A day to remember

Brian Bobek (Palatine, Illinois: William Fremd HS) ? The only out of state verbal in this bunch is ranked as TR?s #1 OC. His strongest attributes of note are his strength and athleticism (are you beginning to see a trend here with the direction OSU OL recruitment is going?). Brian began the year a little on the smaller side with his weight at 6?3 and only 258, but filled out to 278 currently without losing any explosiveness. Although Underwood can also play OC, Brian was told he was the only player recruited for that position. After the first two commits were both on the interior of the line, there was some doubt in his head about where he would fit in. That worry was ceased quickly when the staff emailed Bobek to let him know they still wanted him and that his position was and would be available. The low pressure approach and reassurance by the coaches paid off as Brian decided everything was just right for him. He also carries an impressive academic record with a reported 27 ACT score, which can?t be underestimated when looking at a line leader at center.

Fremd's Bobek picks Ohio State

Another year, another big-time commitment for a Fremd lineman.
Vikings junior center Brian Bobek has elected to play his college football at Ohio State. a move that follows on the heels of senior teammate Christian Lombard's decision to head to Notre Dame.
The choice was an easy one for Bobek.
"At first, I was just happy to have interest from them and all," he said. "I figured it would be a little while before they would start showing a lot of interest. (But) things kind of accelerated quickly."
But the timing worked out for Bobek, as it had a year earlier for Lombard.
"I wanted to try to commit before my senior year started so I didn't have to think about it," Bobek said.
Fremd coach Mike Donatucci understands his big guys' good fortune.
"First of all, when is the last time that Ohio State came to the northwest suburbs?" Donatucci said. "(Bobek) was going to get offers from Purdue and Michigan State. (But) when this came up, it was like, 'Holy cow!'"
