While I'm sure it's flattering to get an offer from OSU, one thing to consider is OSU will always have their pick of the litter when it comes to recruiting. I have not checked out their roster, but I'm sure they've got more than a handfull of 4 and 5 star OL who are all more than qualified to play big ten football. Signing with OSU might be a ticket to the NFL, but only if you get to see the field. It also might be a ticket to a long time riding the pine and seeing top notch OL recruited each and every year who may surpass you.

Brian is stronger and more powerful than many, if not most, D-1 O-linemen. Benches 430, squats 550, cleans 300+, vert jump 32", broad jump 9 ft. and he doesn't turn 17 until spring.
It would be fine if there are more options to consider, but we're happy that the school that has won the last 5 Big Ten championships wants Brian.

1. Fremd center Brian Bobek has been offered by Ohio State. That is a major catch for the youngster. I don't know that he had any other offers up to then. He and his father made unofficial visits to Purdue and Ohio State. After Ohio State coaches reviewed Bobek's tape, they offered a scholarship immediately.

Brian Bobek is high on the Buckeyes’ wish list and right now things look good for the talented center to end up in Columbus.
