OL Alex Boone (Official Thread)

Done....I have confidence he will be. He's not who I am worried about. Acutally its not anyone in particular I am worried. Its the entire challenge that is ahead of them. I think they'll win but I think it will be a fight. It will be like going into a hornets nest in Kinnick Stadium. Too bad the hornets had to go :)

He's due. I think Alex needs to get more of a mean streak to him. He's mammoth sized and he needs to exert himself from whistle to whistle more. I would like to see some pancakes out of him starting this week.

As usual, the left tackle is perhaps the critical non-skills position when a right handed QB is involved. Alex has had some problems earlier in the season, but it is encouraging that he graded quite well versus PSU.

I figure it will come down to Alex having his biggest impact in the rushing game, where the RT (Schafer?) will be key in protecting the passing game. Whoever that was against PSU was getting whupped pretty badly by speed rushers on occasion. But re Alex and the rushing game, I think it is especially important since most of Pitts strong runs seem to be to the left.

I agree we need Boone or whomever to play like Orlando Pace. Shoot, every coach in I-A would love to have their tackle play like him. :)

Go Bucks!

your right on about the LT. I watched the games over today and I could tell one huge improvement in Boones game. He was so much more mobile and you can tell 5 to 10 yards down the field and still blocking. He didn't do that in the first 3 because, it sounds like a minor injury from what Tressel said. If he's healthy he's at the right spot
