OL Alex Boone (Official Thread)

I sure hope our offensive line can become better with each game and I hope that they still have something to prove since the game with Florida. Is this the biggest O/L we have ever put on the field or are the same as last year.

This is definitely the biggest OSU O-line that I can remember which is back to about the early 90s or so.

I figured if anyone had that shot, it would be you, Hayn. Great job.

Only problem was I had the 120-300mm 2.8 on and I was pulled back all the way at 120. That's how close I was. Would've been a full shot if I had the 24-70mm. I'm positive there is an almost perfect shot of that out there somewhere. Place was crawling with photogs (and TOO MANY FORMER PSU PLAYERS....UUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH).

It's always cool to have the o-lineman celebrate and all.. but after teddy ginn getting hurt by a dumbass celebration, why the fuck is a 300 lb lineman jumping over a wr? fucking pee-wee shit, not jim tressel.

if either one of them get hurt, it dosen't help the buckeyes cause.

Agreed here too - Bleeder. We were fortunate on this one. I hope Tress can emphisize the serious consequences when they celebrate in this manner. We still have 3 mighty tough games to go thru. Lets save the best for last

The leapfrog is funny and all but it won't be when Hartline gets smooshed by 300+ lbs 6-8 linemen. I hate this type of celebration as well as the back or chest bump in the air. Eventually one of these celebrations are going to result in a severely twisted ankle or worse.

I posted this in the Leap-frog thread, but thought it fit here as well:

Sorry for the poor humor, but this just made me laugh like mad.

ESPN - Forde: Ohio State doesn't fear the reaper - Columnist

Forde's article discusses the jump over Hartline:

Quote:
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Barton was knocking back defenders so ferociously that at one point in the third quarter, Ohio State ran it six straight times to his side. In the first half, the 6-foot-8, 313-pound Boone showed his athleticism by pulling out to lead a Hartline screen into the end zone by knocking aside a defensive back -- then leap-frogging all the way over Hartline's head and landing on his feet.

Of all the impressive things Ohio State did, that might have been the best.

"I just felt him up there with his hands on my shoulders," Hartline said. "I bent over and just let him go. I didn't want to catch him."

Said Boone: "I got some ups, man. You better watch out."
LOL! Reminds me of that "Turner Brown" joke.

I also wondered if Boeckman was late with the throw, because when he throws it (forward pass, right?) to Hartline, Boone and Barton were both downfield. I'm not an official or anything, so someone help me out here.
How far down field can you be during the pass if you're an OL? five yards? 3?
Or is it different when the receiver is behind the line of scrimmage?

If anyone out there really knows the rules let me know if we got away with one here?

Go Bucks! Just win, baby!!
