IF he gets 400 carries, then he MIGHT get to 2000 yards, and even that's a stretch. 5 ypc might be too much to ask from him.

EH - I completely agree. Peterson is a great back, as I'm sure you'll agree. But, even great backs need an O-Line.

I've heard the kicker thing. I've also heard Rufus Harris and DJ Wolfe. Wolfe is the corner. Harris is a linebacker and is the Adrian Peterson of their defense. If it's Wolfe, not a big loss. He was a converted running back and it showed. He got burned on a bunch of plays last year.

EDIT: For Dryden
Wolfe was a stud coming out of high school. He might still turn into a very good corner, but he was the weak link in a secondary full of weak links last year.

Was Wolfe a starting CB? I read that it was a starter. Anyway, it sure as hell isn't going to help the depth of the secondary.

I disagree. A great athlete is a great athlete. Experience and basic assignment football is as important to a secondary as pure talent, and the lack of experience was OU's problem. The talent was definitely there though, IMO.

Wolfe had 65 tackles, 5 TFLs, 2 INTs, and 10 PBU as a soph. He was an All Big-XII honorable mention last year and showed tremendous speed considering he wasn't playing his "natural" recruited position.

I'll give you the claim that the secondary had a bunch of weak links last year, but I'll dispute that talent was the reason, or that Wolfe didn't have the makings to be a top CB, especially with two more years at OU ahead of him.

Well, for everyone complaining about this situation being (unjustly) compared to the Troy Smith situation, don't worry about it. This seems to be moving very quickly past that, and into SMU territory.

It's not the compliance officers that should've known - if anyone should've noticed what was going on, it's the coaches. The compliance officers aren't the ones who are with these young men every day. The compliance officers don't know to do anything until somebody comes to them with an irregularity or a question.
