Here's a few that I remembered:

1. What is the state wild flower?

2. What is the state fish?

3. What is the state mammal?

4. And this a very obscure one, what is the other, almost unknown, nickname
for Ohio besides the Buckeye State?

I learned #4 in 7th grade Ohio History didn't believe the teacher, looked it up and by god, she was right!

Wait, we have a state fish? When did the legislature finally agree on this issue? They were arguing over the small mouth bass, large mouth bass and walleye several years ago. One of the dumbest debates I ever heard. I had no idea they finally settled the issue.

As for the state mammal: White tail deer

I should know the wildflower, but am blanking right now.

As for nickname.......um, Modern Home of Presidents?

I saw last year that the small mouth bass was made the official state fish.

If you would like me to remove the question I will but I saw it last year on television.
Fair enough. I guess they finally got that passed through the legislature.

Any hints on Ohio's other nickname? I know we were going with the slogan "Heart of it All" a few years back, but I'm guessing that is not it.

The Yankee State?

You're kidding right Ginn & Juice?

Let me guess, your favorite color is clear.

Actually, Yankee State is correct:

"The Yankee State" was an early nickname applied to Ohio, probably by Kentuckians and Virginians because of its free institutions. It may also have been in reference to the many New Englanders who migrated to Ohio in the early 1800s.
