Ohio State Wrestling (2015/2017/2018 B1G Champs, 2015 National Champs, 2019 National Runners-up)

Just read the short recaps on twitter. Looks like we dominated the lower weights (thank you Nick and Jesse for bonus points) and lost some really close matches (including a couple in SV) before Nick (big Nick, not small Nick who got a major) gets a takedown in SV. Almost enough to make me wish I had signed up for B1G+.
Really wish I had it too, what a close dual. Having no Canon obviously hurts, but way to get the closer win. Hopefully we're back to full strength soon, for now just happy to be undefeated and get a gutsy win.

125 - Bouzakis looked good and seems to be handling the cut okay.
133 - Davino is good.
141 - Mendez is that much better than Hardy.
149 - Stiles has been a good transfer.
157 - Cannon has been dealing with a knock.
165 - I choose Paddy just because.
174 - Kharch is fine.
184 - Fishback will be okay.
197 - Someone needs to be the guy. I don't see much difference between Geog and Shumate.
285 - Feldman saved the dual and the day...

Been a fun season. Best team we've had in sometime, but you don't beat Neb. by a point and get to be in the, "Can OSU best PSU" discussion.
I'd trade ten AA's for a dual victory but it's likely we win two matches, three tops.

Go Buckeyes!!!

Saw a write-up somewhere, that opined the tOSU might win four against PSU. That might be a stretch, but that's why they play the games/matches. Am encouraged to see the aura of positive with the singlet guys. Am going out on a limb here, but gotta think that the Buckeyes are pointing toward Penn St.....hope we're all healthy.

It's possible, sucks Cannon got hurt because that would've at least tightened up the score. I usually write up a prediction by weight for this dual but I'm skipping it this year. We could get blown out on the road and lose toss up matches worse case scenario, or we could win the tight ones or where we're favored and only lose by 10-15 points best case scenario. Of course I hope we give them a run and pull off the upset, but it's just not going to happen.

Echoing some of the comments made already on the Nebraska meet; I thought Bouzakis looked great. If he AAs, it’ll be one of the best turn arounds I can remember (which isn’t saying much). Really happy and excited for him though. Davino is a beast and the weight class is stacked this year too, which makes it even more exciting. Mendez is on another level. You can see it in his eyes every time he gets out there. It’s the, “I’m so much better than you and I’m going to give you a free lesson as to why.”

Stiles was a great pick up imo. It’ll be good to see him go against Lachlan McNeil this weekend who many thought OSU would be a landing spot for. Kudos to Shaw for stepping up against Taylor and keeping it to a major. The last stall call was weak as fuck imo, which gave him the bonus. I thought Birden wrestled well. The kid from Nebraska is really tough on top, so I’m not surprised he went neutral to start the 3rd.

No shame on Kharchla’s and Fishback’s losses. They’ll get them if/when they meet again. I was hoping to see Geog take that next step against a solid opponent. Bummer ending to a decent match. Loved the Feldman match. AJ Fiero talks so much shit and it’s great when he has to eat that pile of shit, especially twice against Feldman.
