Game Thread Ohio State vs TCU (Arlington, TX) - 09/15/18, 8:00PM (ABC)

These are listed weights. So best case scenario, TCU's second level will be manned by 3 guys the size of Nate Salley, worst case the size of Darron Lee while he redshirted.

That should end well against 3 OL that are over 305 lbs. It's going to look like those ridiculous highlights from their high school days where they were 100 lbs bigger and 6" taller than everyone.

To this, I look forward.

I think that TCU could test the Buckeye secondary early. Still, I am not worried. 41-17.

Robinson their QB is untested himself. Not much to go off of. Last year in his lone extensive action he looked bad throwing the ball against Texas Tech. This year he had ok stats against Southern and a rain slop fest against SMU. Their offense has been more dink and dunk than down field threat with him at the helm so far.

Dink and dunk worries me with the LBs overpursuit. May get a few early big plays out of it. They will get the ball out fast because Dline is so dominant.

Don’t underestimate TCU’s defense, or their defensive line. I’m kinda jumping in late, and am not going to engage in apissing match about size.

But TCU uses a lot of 3 man fronts and stands up DE’s that disguise whether they’re coming or dropping.

They do things much different than the standard 4-3 or 3-4 defense. Gary Patterson is a tough coach.

I like Weber and Dobbins in this game and think we will have great effect running downhill. I think TCU’s coverage could present some things Haskins has never seen and stuff we’d have a hard time replicating in practice.

I like us to win (and probably cover) but don’t let their defensive line average weight influence that opinion much. They can play, and at a high level.

Yeap, this is the exact kind of game I hope we go full power 8yds and a cloud of dust. Run downhill on them and their looks won't matter very much. Force them to stack the box every down, then unleash Haskins with some PA. Control clock, keep D fresh... it's a tried and true formula.
"Undersized" Dlines are frequently very good at pass rushing...
Give me some more of those unbalanced looks from the Oregon NC and make them tap out.

seriously though, TCU's Oline is bigger than ya'lls Oline and our Dline is also bigger than ya'lls Dline.

As has been said many times, the question is not which is bigger. The question is which is better.

But as for the O-Line: According to gofrogs.com, yours is not bigger. In fact, it is quite a bit smaller than Ohio State's.

So your claim is wrong, but that's ok because it's irrelevant.

False, in terms of size, neither line is bigger than Ohio State's. If you're implying more talented, again that's false....

TCU's OL:

LT Anthony McKinney 6' 8" 314 lbs
LG Cordel Iwuagwu 6' 3" 311 lbs
C Kellton Hollins 6' 2" 292 lbs (yikes)
RG Chris Gaynor 6' 5" 295 lbs
RT Lucas Niang 6' 7" 328 lbs

TCU's DL:

DE Ben Banogu 6' 4" 249 lbs
DT Corey Bethley 6' 2" 290 lbs
DT Terrell Cooper 6' 2" 286 lbs
DE Ty Summers 6' 2" 235 lbs

Ohio State's OL:

LT Thayer Munford 6' 6" 319 lbs
LG Malcolm Pridgeon 6' 7" 315 lbs
C Michael Jordan 6' 7" 310 lbs
RG Demetrius Knox 6' 4" 308 lbs
RT Isaiah Prince 6' 7" 310

Ohio State DL:
DE Nick Bosa 6' 4" 263 lbs
DT Dre'Mont Jones 6' 3" 286 lbs
DT Robert Landers 6' 1" 283 lbs
DE Chase Young 6' 5" 265 lbs

Good luck stopping that DL...
