Game Thread Ohio State vs Penn State, 10/28/17 @ 3:30 ET (FOX)

Rewatching some of the game. One of the plays of the game was Jordan Fuller tackling Barkley on the 3rd and 2 with a minute to go in the 3rd. If Penn St scores any points on that drive the ballgame is probably over. He is developing into an impact player.

Those stops were huge on that drive, especially the last one that was going for 6 if Fuller doesn’t make that play.

I mean he only had 9 tackles last night. One of the most if not most impact-full defensive player last night. Kid played his ass off.

@LordJeffBuck posted earlier in this thread Barkley's carries in the fourth quarter, where he rushed for -8 yards on 6 carries. I decided to go through the play-by-play and list each of his 21 carries:

2nd Qtr
3
36 (TD)
2

3rd Qtr

4th Qtr

His last 10 carries of the game went for a grand total of -10 yards. Fuck his 97 KO TD and his 36-yard TD run...the Heisman trophy winner doesn't go for -10 yards in his last 10 carries, and for -3 yards in all 14 second-half carries, of his team's biggest game of the year, and in fact possibly the biggest game in college football so far.

1. The young receivers, Mack, McLaurin, Dixon, Hill really maturing.

2. They stopped calling the bubble screens so much.

3. We won’t see those fucked up monochromatic POS again.

4. Moved up to #3 with 1 & 2 bound to play each other.

5. O line bulldozing the entire left (bucks right) side of PSU line on Weber’s TD.

6. Can’t a school of 40K find at least one kid who can kick the ball through the end zone. I don’t miss much of Tressel ball, but forcing the bad guys to start on their 20/25 is one part I loved.

Barkley has always been a swing for the fences type of player - lots of home runs, lots of strike outs. Usually he is Aaron Judge. Last night he was more like Rob Deer - a couple of huge plays and a whole lot of mediocre-to-bad ones. For the final 2/3 of the game, his impact was generally negative for Penn State, and he literally got worse as the game went on. Not a Heisman-worthy performance at all.
