Penn State offense accounted for 17 points when they had to drive the full field

2nd Q: 7 plays 81 yards TD by Barkley
3rd Q:10 plays 70 yards TD pass to Thompkins*
4th Q: 10 plays 64 yards FG

They had 21 points from KO returns and TO's

As a team they had less than 300 yards of total offense, Barkley ran for less than 100 and averaged 2.1 ypc

Looking at the stats, again just like last year, it's hard to believe Penn State was in the game.

take away that bogus int/td review...they scored 3 points in the 2nd half. Give it up to the defense. nice job!

and one of their short field TD's in the first half was picked off but they got bailed out by a bad PI call

again, they were unbelievably lucky to be in that game

could have easily been a 42-17 type beat down

I called for 42-21 before the game and I still stand by my assessment and agree with you. I really do think this team is that much better without the blunders.

I thought we could have an advantage on both sides of the ball and that's how it played out........
eventually! After much insanity. And frustration.
Now if we can clean up our not so "special teams" we will be just killing people.
I believe we have the kids and coaching to do that.
Next week will be a challenge, though. Big emotional come down.

Watched the 2nd half on the quick replay on youtube(didn't watch after halftime) few things I saw

- JT played lights out and had some extremely good passes in tight windows and placed the ball perfect for recievers

- Oh the receivers played great IMO had a drop or two I think but they came up big in the 2nd half

- O line played their asses off and JT had at least 6 seconds or more to go through progressions and get the ball out and it wasn't even close with pressure getting to him

- Defense played very well, and turned into some animals in the 4th quarter specifically the D line on the last 2-3 drives

- On Pedsters FG drive, the game was saved when they tackled Blacknall and tightened up on the goal line and forced the fg, if they give up a TD I don't think the comeback happens

Looking ahead I like the schedule considering our strengths in run defense, our secondary is getting better and I like the pressure the d line brings each week. Kevin Wilson is still making some questionable play calls but each week seems to get better. I think it's growing pains just finding an identity but they have found it way more this year than they have last couple years. ST's was atrocious and needs a ton of work to be talking about playoffs. Bama will capitalize off those mistakes and they have the defense to stay up on us but for now Iowa is the focus and hopefully they have enough left in the tank to take care of business next week. I never have good feelings about playing in Iowa especially coming off a huge emotional win and with Sparty in a couple weeks. Just keep on winning, Go Bucks!
