Game Thread Ohio State vs Oklahoma, 09/09/17 @ 7:30 ET (ABC)

Exactly. Not quit as tired as the occasional backpedalling when he gets too close to the line. Not quite as tired as the self-appointed cooler-than-everyone-else crowd who befriend him during the backpedalling. But pretty damn tired.

So random internet guy disrespects OU and it means "oh noes, they're motivated now", but an actual OU OL expects our DL to be like KU and that is, of course, meaningless. Did I get the tired and old act (ironic as it's coming from a 12-year-old) about right?

You didn't do it in the 3rd person but yeah, other than that you got it.

I've already told you guys countless times...

What about Ohio State? Do they have any strengths and weaknesses?

At this point it's all perceived. A lot can play out over a season. Right now I'd say the 10 deep defensive line is a strength. Our punter seems pretty good. Defense in general might be a strength. I mean 17 yards rushing against a team that has been producing 1000 yard rushers seems strong. I think our QB is better than yours. If he tucks the ball away and runs I think you are going to have a long night. How many yards rushing and crossing routes will your defense allow before creeping up and getting burnt by the deep ball? I'm a homer and I'm not predicting a blowout or anything. I just think this team is going to be special. They are going to have to be in order to navigate this schedule.

Their O lineman compared the OSU DL to KU

...... wha?? at this point i think we have to start seriously considering the possibility mayfield is hated by his team and they are actively trying to kill him. last year some no name backup who is third string this year called out the entire d. now an olineman calls out, of all units on our d, the friggin dline??

if im mayfield i "accidentally" nut punch a couple teammates this week...

We'll be ready. Weber is a good back, and Dobbins will turn out to be a great one. But both those guys will face the wrath of Obo and Caleb Kelly.

Funny, you keep mentioning Caleb Kelly. It's funny because most of the Oklahoma posters on Landthieves are most worried about the fact that your linebackers can't get off of blocks to save their collective asses and can't handle someone like Dobbins in space on coverage.

But keep on spouting the bullshit here.

Stop speaking on things you know nothing about. OU can and will run the ball effectively. But why would they need to rely on the run when Baker can just carve up OSU's putrid secondary? OU has the best OLINE in the country which will nullify OSUs biggest strength. (Dline)

It's obvious you guys are terrified by the way you keep bringing up last year as if it has any significance. You lost your best playmaker and didn't replace him. Meanwhile OU has playmakers all over the field. Mayfield is gonna tear your D apart, and is obviously the much better college QB than Barrett which is why he will win th3 Heisman this year. JT won't be a finalist, and probably won't even be in the discussion for being a finalist.

I don't know what is worse, your ignorance or your arrogance. But combining the two only reveals the fact that you are talking out of your a$$ because your mouth knows better.

This is insane.. they lose a starting DB last week, are starting a true freshman LB, and have a new defensive lineman that's undersized.

Yet somehow they're going to stop us?

They lose both starting Rbs and their two best WRs and again they're going to light up a defense with upwards of 5 first rounders?

I enjoy having opposing fans but you all can't be serious can you? You guys keep spouting off back up names like they're proven.

Look we can spout off unproven back ups too but let's focus on what we know. OU has a good oline and OSU has a good DL so its a wash. OU has a good QB but unproven RB and OSU has a good LB core advantage to OSU. OU has a unproven WR group and OSU is slightly more experienced with a slight edge to OSU. OVERALL at best for OU it's a draw but more likely the slight edge goes to OSU.

OSU OL v your DL is a heavy lean to OSU. OSU RB/QB vs your LB is again a heavy lean to OSU. OSU WR vs OU DB is a wash. Overall our offense vs your defense we have the distinct advantage.

I will tell you right now.. IU has a better defense and has the better WR group than OU. If OSU goes to 5 DL your OL is fucked

better be worried, people. the sooners have the edge... in their eyeballs.

Listening to the interviews I hear and see something different - something I haven't seen in a long while. Hard to nail down but the best analogy is the difference between merely saying something and believing something. You can see it in their eyes.

I'll take that edge.
