Game Thread Ohio State vs Oklahoma, 09/09/17 @ 7:30 ET (ABC)

Why the FUCK do we play on offense like a bunch of scared little girls? God fucking dammit I'm tired of this [Mark May]. Do we need Tom Herman or Ezekiel Elliot to run a basic CFB fucking offense? Seriously? Fuck this offensive play calling. We've got a kid who finished in the Heisman voting as a god damn RS freshman and we're afraid to let the offense try to fucking score fucking points. Fuck this [Mark May]. God dammit.
This was all typed before the that INT. Fuck this offense. This is a god damn joke. All the talent we have on O and this is the result? Fuck this.

I feel at peace about this already. Oklahoma is a legit contender -- we are not. I'd rather drop and play for the B1G, see how the team progresses and the young'uns grow; who knows how the season might play out. But this isn't a title team now, clearly, and it's hard to see a path to it becoming one.

So being that's the hand we're holding, I'm good with not expecting this crew to be better than they actually are. Won't play the tired "all the talent lost to the NFL" hand, we're better than that. We just don't have it. Meyer needs to figure out who has fire and who doesn't. We're in team building mode as if it's the pre-season.

As a play caller

Besides last year we had 2 returning starters. And even at worst our LBs were solid

I think Ash had a lot more to do with play calling when he was here.
Fickell is a great coach but it was Ash who setup the cover 4 and got that scheme rolling here.
His kids leave for the NFL and we're back to soft coverage never looking for the ball, playing catchup, and confused coverages.
