I’m fairly impressed with that half.

Playing an historically tough minded team with good D and we get rolling and take a 27-10 lead into half is a good sign. The rocky start gets ironed out. That’s what a good team does.

Their D didn't fall asleep. MSU was slanting the DTs in the 1st Q, which allowed them to get penetration against the pulling guys. In the 2nd Q, Day switched to that hybrid zone/man blocking scheme that's all the rage in the NFL, and sparty didn't have an answer.
