Ohio State vs Miami Predictions

With Jacory Harris returning it's shaping up to be a good game. A good first road test for the Bucks. I think that Ohio State has the edge on defense if Nate Williams is back for the game. Ohio State will have to get pressure on Harris and force him to run if they want to win. Jamal Berry played only on special teams mostly again Toledo but I think they may throw him in a little more on offense this week against Miami to help spread the ball around.

The key question on offense is if Ohio State is going to play Braxton Miller at all at QB. I think they have to. The good thing about Miller not playing against Toledo is Miami wont know what to expect if Miller plays against them this Saturday. Bauserman will start but expect Miller to play some as well. I think OSU will have to mix things up and keep Miami guessing if they expect to win. The conservative running the ball on 3rd and 5 wont get it done on the road against Miami. Either way I hope for a good game. Go Bucks!

My prediction is
Ohio State 24
Miami 20

Whats yours?

I don't get where people see Miami as a massive opponent... they had just about the same or worse turnover as us... They have ALL brand new coaches, which means new schemes all over the field... Serious question marks defensively and at the QB position... Sure they are better than Akron, but I'm not sure Toldeo doesn't beat them... I was not even remotely impressed in their loss to a mediocre Maryland squad... I don't think they score more than 14-17 on us, so if we can get any sort of offense going and limit turnovers we will be fine

Miami has good field goal kicker. They are at home. The weather will be ridiculously humid and hot. They have a great bunch of WRs and we still won't have Howard back. They will make just enough plays to win a close one.
In the big picture it won't matter one bit because when we get Boom, Posey and Adams back we'll be the best team in the Big!

Looks like the weather won't be much of a factor, a high of 87 on weather.com and don't forget this is a night game. This miami team just doesn't scare me, maybe if they still had Hankerson. I say Bucks win by 10.

Let's not forget they have almost an extra week to prepare. Like we did, last year.

That can hurt a team bringing back guys that haven't played. Your first game out is against Ohio State (with tons more OSU fans in the stadium). Harris could have extreme happy feet. Their line looked terrible against Maryland. And Maryland moved the ball well against them. I know they get a D starter back but is that enough to change the whole situation.

I'm pretty sure they were missing more like 6 starters on defense against Maryland, including two of their best defenders (Forston and Spence).

How many of those are back for Saturday?

edit- just read it... they get 3 possible d starters back... Spence, Fortson and Ojowo. Then 2 offensive starters back in Harris and Benjamin.

I think the Toledo game serves as a wake up call.

The offense looked so good on that first drive against Toledo, if we can channel that early and play solid D, Miami will fold.

Wouldn't be shocked to see a big game for Braxton, I feel like the coaches are waiting to break him out for a reason. And Miami was SOFT against Maryland, so either Braxton or Joe should have a good game.

I say Bucks by 17, 27-10.

I dont see us winning. Miami may not be great on offense but they do have a senior QB. Although he throws INT's, he has more than enough potential to make some plays unlike our starting QB. Our defense is great, but their defense is atleast solid.

It won't be the defenses fault if we lose.

I bet Bauserman starts and starts poorly. It takes us too long to make the switch to Braxton and we come up just short. You add in our kicker being 0-4, and them having a good kicker. I just don't see us having a clear cut advantage anywhere.

Sure our defense is better than Miami's but our defenses aren't playing each other. Their offense will make more plays than our offense. It won't be because their defense is better than ours it'll be because our offense isn't nearly as good as theirs.

Now if Braxton gets in early all bets are off. I think we are just more dangerous when Braxton is in.
