Ohio State vs Miami Predictions

The more I sit and think about things, the more I feel like we will come out focused and strong this week. i mentioned my hesitation last week going into Toledo and this week I feel it is a different mindset. i feel like all the negative talk will help focus the kids and get them on track. The same way my kids act right when they have been scolded or almost got hurt doing something half way, I feel like the youth will get into a mindset of "we need to get alot better". I like the chance of a home crowd. Out of all the road games we have this year, this one is most likely the best chance for a home field advantage and a better way to let the young guys ease into a road game.

I will give a true prediction when we know if the 3 will be back, but I feel around 7-10 points right now without them. I just think this team will strive off the "nobody believes in you" mentality and it makes it easier to teach them.

Glad to read you guys got your 3 players back - this sh!t is getting ridiculous.

I read where tOSU is involved with that charity event, and send people quite often.
Saw today that a booster reported yesterday that the money in the envelopes was for travel reimbursement.

Um, OK, so what did they DO that was wrong? They went out-of-pocket on expenses to attend a charity event,
and then got reimbursed when they got there.

Um, hello?

When I travel for work, you're dang STRAIGHT I get reimbursed - why should it be different here?

I'm concerned about this game. Everyone so far has predicted our defense will take advantage of multiple turnovers. I'm in the minority here thinking that their offense is the strength of that team. They have a capable QB going against a team that just gave up almost 300 yards to Toledo. They have a legit home run threat in Lamar Miller at RB. We're going to have to play well fundamentally, which is something we didn't do last week.

I think our team is really excited to play this game. I'm thinking we come out hot. I like the under in this game and I like the buckeyes against the spread. I'll say 20-17, OSU.

The charity has to reimburse OSU, and then OSU has to reimburse the players. This is all administered out of the compliance office

Probably because $200 in an envelope =/= documented travel expenses with support turned into and approved by the compliance department. I'm sure you just don't tell your boss 'I was out of state' and he hands you an envelope of cash.

Obviously not on the level of what your team (allegedly) has done, but not right in the eyes of the NCAA.

In my IMO, the whole 'travel expenses' sounds like a very hollow and transparent excuse anyway.

OT, predictions from a UM point of view?

Hmmm... Don't really know - ain't seen J12.
If it's the 2010 Harris, then I'd start congratulating you guys on a win.
Morris didn't look too much better - staring down receivers like that will get you picked against an opponent like OSU.

At the very least, I hope it's a good game - prime time, on a national stage, night game, etc... Maybe a good game between the two can backburner the off-field crap for a while.

Toledo-OSU game I just saw as a look-ahead. Lotta people in the media talking trash, but they were looking ahead, no doubt in my mind.
I don't think Miami coaches are expecting the same OSU to show up as last week, and think they also understand that was a look-ahead game.

I'd like a good, clean game, no injuries, no BS - just some good smash-mouth football.

ND-scUM was painful to watch...
Dolphins game was even WORSE... Don't think the Dolphins D ever made it to the stadium.

Can a fb fan get a decent game, please?

Meanwhile, the players are out the $$ which they probably don't have to begin with for what? 4-6 weeks? Submit expenses to OSU, OSU reviews, submits to charity, 20-30 days later they get paid, 20-30 days later player gets reimbursed... meanwhile, players were out ~$200 for 45-90 days.

I still think it's BS

Now if a tOSU bandmember went, wouldn't be such an issue, now would it?

The offense didn't look too "hot" against Maryland. And Morris was the one who played better of the two down the stretch last year. Plus we hopefully get a healthy Williams and Simon on Saturday. And our corners haven't been the problem, it was screen passes that went for alot of yardage.

Naaaah. Those checks get cut to the players within a week. OSU handles collecting money from the charity. At the end of the day it is a simple thing to understand that you don't take money in envelopes

I hope you're right.

This I can understand - looks like trying to do an end-around.

Still think it's trivial as hell, though.
