Game Thread Ohio State vs Miami OH - 09/21/19, 3:30PM (BTN)

Things I'm really liking so far in 2019:
Penalties have significantly decreased over last year.
The Defense hasnt given up one long run yet.
The Defense is tackling well and we are seeing a lot of gang tackling.
The Defense is getting pressure on the QB. Multiple sacks every game.
The Offense has a great balance of running vs passing
The OL is looking more aggressive blocking
RB's are running hard
Zero interceptions
70% passing percentage
We are building depth on both sides of the ball.

All the arrogant rich kids from everyone's High school went to Miami.

Really? Wife and daughter both went there and neither one was rich or arrogant. One thing they had in common: they are intelligent and work hard.

C'mon, man. Fredo's reputation is both well known and accurate. We can talk about how, for a public university, they have very low percentages of first generation college students and Pell Grant eligible students while conversely having a high percentage for a public university of students coming from families with incomes over 100K. We can talk about their perennial spot on the Princeton Review's list of "Schools Where Diversity Is Not Welcome."

Fredo is what Fredo is, a poor man's Pepperdine.

However, while many collar popping douche bags do end up at Miami, that doesn't mean that any individual Miami grad, like @Don Muenz's wife or daughter or, for that matter, the Miami grad I watch a lot of Buckeye games with (who grew up on a farm and has been very successful through his own smarts and hard work) is one of them. For that matter, it's hardly a crime to grow up rich and/or "non-diverse", although it's nice when a rich kid has awareness of his or her good fortune.

Obviously, there's going to be exceptions to the rule. There are some Pell Grant kids at Fredo. There are some underrepresented minorities. There are some liberals. There are some kids who major in Arts & Science. There are some people who are the opposite of the reputation. That being said, I think Fredo has such a strong reputation for attracting a certain type of person for a reason. It didn't come about out of thin air.

And for the most part, my posts rarely attack even the stereotypical Fredo student or alum. They focus on the school, its comical self-image (PUBLIC IVY!!!) and its history in the 60s and 70s of doing everything it could to hurt and cripple Ohio State.

I'll be in the boathouse.
