Everywhere that I have traveled in the world, it's been interesting to see elements of local culture and watch them play out in society.

There's Halloween, the Swazi reed dance...the German Oktoberfest...Chinese New Year...Divali...Comrades Marathon, Argus Cycle Tour, and Two Oceans Marathon...

Then, in my homeland, there is the annual build-up to the thrashing of the Wolverweenies in the biggest sports rivalry in the world. It's all neatly packaged in a sport called football that is marked by a degree of violence unlike the game of similar name played elsewhere in the world. This distinguishing difference can be observed in that players who go down, stay down well after the ref's whistle.

Today, people who share my birthplace around the world know that something special is taking place. It is the beginning of the annual run at a national championship. One of the world's largest stadiums will be filled to capacity and more than that number will be watching or listening to the game around the world.

It is our culture to play this game with passion in our youth, to win according to its rules, and support those who come behind us in this endeavor as we age.

It is time. Go Buckeyes!

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

I have a subscription to ESPN Player that runs until the bowl games but cannot log in because they apparently no longer broadcast over the internet to sub-Saharan Africa.

Suggestions?

The English bookie sites are all I can think of. I've used them in Argentina. Just make sure you have good, up to date antivirus software running.

There are ways to spoof your IP location to pretend like you are somewhere else. People do this for a variety of reasons, but getting around streaming blackouts is a big one.

I know people do this often to get access to other Netflix libraries as they vary by region. If they catch you they can ban your account. I'd look online and see if anyone does this for espn. I would hope it's a bit less stringent for espn. There's a ton of account sharing across states with espn and other TV accounts.
