Buddy, we haven't won the Big Ten regular season in 13 years, and 12 years is how long it's been since we've seen a Sweet 16 appearance. The program fell from elite status a long time ago, let's not pretend like it's been hitting on all cylinders and only Diebler has let us down.

Of course it carries over from Holtmann and the end of the Matta era. I'm not saying we should be competing for the national title but 3 years not making the tourney at all should get you axed.

Anything short of a Final 4 won't satisfy some of you so the question is kind of pointless.
As for the "Deibler defenders", I'm just being honest about what I see. Some of you people can't even do that. The fanbase that ran Matta out of town and we're still paying back the karma for it.
I think he gets 4 full years like DZ does. He gets full recruiting cycle. If he gets fired you're just resetting the clock at a non-basketball school with delusional fans. It pays to be patient - that is, of course, unless you think the program's NIL issues are going to go away overnight and you want to hit the reset button again. I mean some people are only happy when there's something to bitch about...I guess....

Go look back at my posts Ive never once claimed this should be a final 4 or even a sweet 16 team but once again missing the tournament is not acceptable. Ive already game to terms that he's getting a 3rd year but if he goes 0/3 on even making the tourney it's well beyond time to move on. The AD is just accepting stale mediocrity at that point if he's allowed to continue.

When it comes to the NIL Issue I'd argue this is at least partially the Ads fault. When you make a lazy completely uninspiring hire of a assistant of the former completely failed coach do you really think people are gonna be lining up to give money?

Was talking g to a lower level coach Friday and asked him about the Bucks this year and he stated that it’s hard to win without NBA guys but that they have two coming in next year.
Question is, will Diebler get a chance to coach them?

This was probably the best we've looked all season and really thought we were going to pull out the W. UNC looked pretty good but I think we're still figuring out our identity and the right guys to get the minutes they should be getting. This would have been really good for the tourney resume, but the real work is still going to be in B1G play and not losing games we shouldn't lose/pulling off a few wins where we're not favored. I have way more optimism about that happening than the past few years or so.
