Whatever else happens, this season was a tremendous success. Despite it's frustration and aggravations, the team overcame some glaring weakness and STILL won the conference.

Yep. We keep having to tell ourselves how this is great. Kind of like a king that always has to remind everyone that he is king.

It is great, and a great season, but there is definitely something missing.

If they expand the playoff to 8 teams, it will be even worse.

400+ yards last 3 games, 1 against the “#1 Defense in America” and a couple others against a decent pass defense and a decent defense in NW. I think those are some solid stats for an argument. If he finishes any worse than 2nd i’ll Be disappointed in the voters. Best QB I’ve seen at OSU...JT is up there but I have him as best leader.

Troy Smith was great. Took over some games and was maybe the most lethal Wolverine-slayer ever, but Dawayne Haskins strapped a team with A LOT of issues on his back and dragged them to a 12-1 season while breaking records left and right. He has been amazing to watch.

He had the benefit of a wildly non existent run game. And still won 12 (potentially 13) with window lickers for defensive coaches. I don’t think it’s even close. Best passing QB by a wide margin. Most accurate, again, probably by a wide margin. Best field manager since at least Troy, and he didn’t really turn it on until his second year starting.

It’s a pretty easy decision for me.

We don't have to keep telling ourselves anything. This defense was lacking from day one - remember the no name guy from Oregon State romping 78 and 81 yards for TDs? The writing was on the wall then, whether we liked it or not. The no name guy from TCU going 90 just cemented it.

And yet, this team won in Crappy Valley, beat scUM, and won the B1G championship.
