Game Thread Ohio State @ Purdue - 10/20/18, 7:30PM (ABC)

Honestly, if we were to lose this game I wouldn't be surprised. All week i thought it was a good possibility. However, the only issue I have with it is scUM will need to drop another game in the B1G.

However, I don't think we're #2...and I don't WANT to be #2. It's more fun to watch cfb if you're trying to climb rather than barely hanging on (with Bama stepping on your fingers). PERHAPS a loss might just be a wake up call....

The only reason I want to get to the playoffs is because I think if we play to our potential we could beat Clemson.

If we can improve, I just want Clemson.

What really annoyed me this week were the local media folks saying that they'd be more worried if it was an early game, that the Bucks would be soft and not take it seriously. But since it's a night game, now they know it's on and will come out fired up. That's not how it works. The night game energizes the home team and home crowd a lot more than the visiting favorites.
Game time doesn't mean shit. Playing under the lights pumps both teams up. Visiting team to shut the home crowd and team the fuck down and home team to pull the huge upset in front of their home crowd. So far, home team is doing it

In road games the offensive game plan goes into a shell. There has been nearly zero downfield passing. Fuck it. I’m drinking myself into a stupor and I’m usually a sunshine pumper.

How about a pass downfield just saying. Complete 3 passes in a row and still haven’t made a first down wtf

Downfield passing requires time and with no running game the line is struggling to provide it.

I’ve hated football going on 4 weeks now. This is criminal what this coaching staff is putting out on the field.

It really sucks.

I know it's because I'm spoiled, but every week I look forward to these 3-4 hours and they've sucked recently. Increasingly angry in the first half and then resigned to the fact that all this recruiting really hasn't meant much and this team is just waiting to loose.

Hector Salamanca is the new Cosby in Buckeye game threads.

Fuck it. I'm going full Tuco now.

They've typically come out of the blue, though. The signs of this happening have been there all year. Now it's just coming to bear. This team is just horribly flawed in multiple ways. Even if they somehow pull this out, the other shoe will drop at some point.

I think '13 MSU, '14 VTech, '15 MSU, '16 PSU were not that surprising. Iowa was shocking.
The weather is neutralizing a lot of our gameplan in this one... just like '15 MSU. There's a lot different from that game, but we've generally struggled in the elements under Urban. And we're seeing it again.

The coaching on this team is dreadful though. All year they've just rolled with kids struggling. How many penalties will Prince get before they bench him ? If Dobbins or Weber fumble, nobody blinks at sitting them for a quarter. It's not the OLine has gelled either.
I don't know. I'm just at a loss what this team is about. If we have to lose tonight to force some changes and develop leadership so we can beat scUM later and go to Indianapolis... I guess I'll take it. That seems to be the only way Urban finally pulls some triggers.
