Cardale's 3 game run was an outlier, aided by Zeke and a rough defense. Urban's offense needs a running QB. Haskins leads college football in TD passes and we can't run for shit, even though we have the same RBs we had last year.

The read option is out, no one is worried about Haskins keeping it, so it's just pass, pass, pass, and the defense is teeing off on the pass rush. Wasn't a problem against Rutgers at home, but we could've easily lost to TCU and State Penn.

It doesn't help that our defense gives up too many big plays, and was doing so even before Bosa got hurt.

The Oline just can’t hold blocks. All these damn side to side throws. No comebacks, quick slants, curl routes. More creativity on offense. Give day the keys and tell urban to gtfoh the rest of the half.

For whatever reason it seems like when Urban came back we stopped going vertical and throw more side to side.

That was predicated on PSU's gameplan. They focused all their D on defending the box and taking away vertical plays. It really stymied us for awhile... the screens is what opened it up.
Seems like the coaching staff has assumed everyone will try to repeat that formula, but Purdue isn't.
