What happened to my ¤cash?
maybe the wind turned a duck into a spiral.
I’m not much for organized religion, but that play turned me into a believer in God.

Rewatching 2012 game and Kenny G bringing the magic. Speaking of magic, that 2pt conversion play to get to OT needs a revisit.
I was in 26C that game, I remember the mass exodus of so-called fans (kind of reminds me of some posters on here when the bucks aren't winning by 40) in the 4th quarter. I remember looking out past the south stands to see the queue of these losers filling the bridge over the Olentangy. Then Kenny G. took over! When the TD was scored to get them within a 2 point conversion away from tying it, the cheers did had a Pied piper effect with the deserters turning en masse and running to get back to the stadium. Ye of little faith.
Something I'll never forget

Not Purdue related, so I'll keep it short: similar thing happened vs LSU in '88. Cooper, in his first year, was asked about the fans, most of whom abandoned hope with several minutes left. He said something about, "the fans were great, especially the 20,000 that stayed".
I don't know how many stayed. I'm not sure if 20k is the number Coop cited. I do know three things for sure: 1) It was a heck of a lot fewer than the tv coverage made it look (YouTube it, they used weird camera angles to make the stadium look almost full. It was freakin' deserted.) 2) The nearest guy to me and I both had to run 10 yards so that we could high-5 each other when Bobby Olive caught the game-winner. 3) The few who stayed were the 3rd loudest crowd I've ever been a part of at Ohio Stadium (85 Iowa #1, 84 Illinois #2).

I didn't know about that quote from Coop. What I will say is that, yes... a bunch of people left the game, and I was one of them... It was shitty cold and wet, so you'll have that sometimes. But sure as shit, when I got back to the field, there were a LOT of people still left. Absent the weather, I don't know that there would have been such a departure.
That said, my seats my frosh year were in Block-O. Before the 'Cuse game (first home game) that hill-jack came up to Block-O to rally the troops. Now, looking back, I appreciate the gesture. Back then, however, I was a 17-year old frosh from North West BFE Ohio and recognized the guy for being a hick in all of 30-seconds. He never caught a break from me. I was still pretty salty about Earl... and frankly, to this day, I'm not sure that I've gotten past that.
