Game Thread Ohio State @ Nebraska - 09/28/19, 7:30PM (ABC)

It’s sandwiched between the MSU and Wisconsin games. Definitely a recipe for an unfocused underperformance at Northwestern.

Edit:

The last game against Northwestern was a 24-20 nail-biter vs a 7-6 wildcat team in 2016.
The last game AT Northwestern was a night game in 2013 that ended on a defensive score and was much closer than the 40-30 final would have you believe. That edition of the Fighting Fitzgeralds finished 5-7.
IIRC, weren't the Nerds unbeaten and ranked going into that one? I remember that game being hyped big time, and in the end, the Buckeyes broke them for the rest of the season.

One of the greatest back door covers or worst bad beat you've ever seen depending on which side you were on.

The narrative on Disney was certainly that the disappointment vs Ohio State made the wheels fall off, and that may be why they had a complete no-show against Wisconsin the following week, but the truth is, the only opponent with a winning (FBS) record in their season opening win streak was a 7-6 Syracuse team. Their season ending 7 game losing streak was to B1G teams with winning records. (They did eke out a 4 point victory against 4-8 Illinois in their last game)

Man I'm so anxious for this game and I don't even get to watch it.... I haven't been this excited for a game since the OU game in 2017.

Just very anxious to see this defense against a good offense. If they perform well on Saturday night then I don't see this defense being tested all season.

The speed from Spielman/Robinson/Washington/Martinez will be the best we will see all year IMO.

It was, pretty sure Gameday was there. I was and it was risky because I went with my wife who happened to attend the 2004 at Northwestern game as well. It worked out, but I'm pretty sure Northwestern lead most of the game.

This isn’t the only offense that would test this defense in my opinion but that’s a subject for another thread.

I find it encouraging that we haven’t necessarily relied on passing in order to achieve yardage; therefore, I’d like our chances in rain offensively and defensively. You can’t just run around wild as a quarterback in the rain.

This is an underrated game though. Like I said, I think this is a good opponent and this defense should be honored to fold him like a lawn chair
